Abstract

An approximate instantaneous eigenstate is presented for the many-spin system possessing the anisotropy exchange interaction in a strong magnetic field by the perturbation method. Based on the instantaneous eigenstate, the Berry phase of this state is worked out. Furthermore, the effect of the anisotropy exchange interaction on the Berry phase of the state for the many-spin system is studied.

An approximate instantaneous eigenstate is presented for the many-spin system possessing the uniaxial anisotropy exchange interaction in the weak and strong magnetic field, respectively, by the perturbation method. Based on the instantaneous eigenstates, the Berry phases of them are worked out. Furthermore, the effect of the uniaxial anisotropy interaction on the Berry phases of the states for the many-spin system is studied.

Entanglement and Berry Phase in Two Interacting Qubits

Ai Min Chen, Sam Young Cho, Taeseung Choi

Entanglement and Berry phase are investigated in two interacting qubit systems. The XXZ spin interaction model with a slowly rotating magnetic field is employed for the interaction between the two qubits. We show how the anisotropy of interaction reveals unique relations between the Berry phases and the entanglements for the eigenstates of the system.

Berry's Phases of the Alkali Atom in a Slowly Changing Strong Magnetic Field and Non-Adiabatic Transition

Chang-Pu Sun, Zhang Linzhi, Qing Xiao

In this paper the high-order adiabatic approximation (HOAA) method is formulated in a new form so that the calculation is greatly simplified. Using this improved HOAA method, we study the Berry phase effects of the Alkali atom in a slowly-changing strong magnetic field and also the non-adiabatic transitions between the instantaneous angular momentum states. The possible observability is also pointed out.
