We study the dynamic critical behavior of spin systems in the presence of quenched random magnetic fields with long-range correlations of the type ${[h(0)h(R)]}_{\mathrm{av}}\ensuremath{\sim}{R}^{\ensuremath{-}(d\ensuremath{-}\ensuremath{\theta})}$. We assume that the dynamics is described by a Langevin equation without conservation of the order parameter. It is shown in both the $\stackrel{\ifmmode \tilde{}\else \~{}\fi{}}{\ensuremath{\epsilon}}$ expansion ($\stackrel{\ifmmode \tilde{}\else \~{}\fi{}}{\ensuremath{\epsilon}}=6+\ensuremath{\theta}\ensuremath{-}d$) to order ${\stackrel{\ifmmode \tilde{}\else \~{}\fi{}}{\ensuremath{\epsilon}}}^{2}$ and
N1 expansion to leading order for $4+\ensuremath{\theta}<d<6+\ensuremath{\theta}$ that the dynamic critical exponent
z can be expressed in terms of static exponent $\ensuremath{\eta}$ as $z=2+g(\ensuremath{\theta})\ensuremath{\eta}$. The dynamic scaling form of the spin-spin correlation function at
T=Tc is obtained to order ${\stackrel{\ifmmode \tilde{}\else \~{}\fi{}}{\ensuremath{\epsilon}}}^{2}$.
Chapter 25 established the scaling behaviour of correlation functions at criticality, T = Tc . This chapter studies the critical domain which is defined by the property that the correlation length is large with respect to the microscopic scale, but finite. Using results proven in Chapter 10, it first demonstrates strong scaling above Tc : in the critical domain above Tc , all correlation functions, after rescaling, can be expressed in terms of universal correlation functions, in which the scale of distance is provided by the correlation length. The first part of the chapter is restricted to Ising-like systems. It then generalizes the results to N-component order parameters in Section 26.6. In Section 26.7, shows how to expand the universal two-point function when T approaches Tc , using the short distance expansion. Finally, the appendix discusses the energy correlation function when the specific heat exponent vanishes.
The zero-field two-point correlation function of an
n-vector system in
d dimensions is calculated to order
n1 for $T\ensuremath{\ge}{T}_{c}$ and
2<d<4. The critical-point scaling function is obtained as a closed cutoff-independent integral. As $t=\frac{(T\ensuremath{-}{T}_{c})}{{T}_{c}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}0$ at fixed wave vector
q, the variation of the Fourier transform of the correlation function is ${\stackrel{^}{E}}_{1}(q){t}^{1\ensuremath{-}\ensuremath{\alpha}}+{\stackrel{^}{E}}_{2}(q)t+{\stackrel{^}{E}}_{3}(q){t}^{2}+\ensuremath{\cdots}$, where $\ensuremath{\alpha}$ is the specific-heat exponent and ${\stackrel{^}{E}}_{2}$, ${\stackrel{^}{E}}_{3}$ are of order
n1. At
d=3 the term
t2 is modified by logarithmic corrections. As $q\ensuremath{\rightarrow}0$ at fixed nonzero
t, deviations of the scaling function from the Ornstein-Zernike form ${(1+{\ensuremath{\xi}}^{2}{q}^{2})}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ are of order $\frac{{10}^{\ensuremath{-}3}{\ensuremath{\xi}}^{4}{q}^{4}}{n}$. Results are compared with high-temperature series-expansion estimates and with the $\ensuremath{\epsilon}$-expansion results of previous work.
