Dielectric properties of an ultra-cold weakly magnetized charged Bose gas

Victor Kowalenko

With a new asymptotic expansion for the specific Kummer function that appears in the response theory of low-temperature quantum plasmas in an external magnetic field, the dielectric properties of the charged Bose gas, namely its collective and transverse modes and screening properties, are evaluated in the weak-field limit.

Ultracold Fermi and Bose Gases and Spinless Bose Charged Sound Particles

V V Minasyan, V. N. Samoylov

We propose a novel approach for investigation of the motion of Bose or Fermi liquid (or \ngas) which consists of decoupled electrons and ions in the uppermost hyperfine state. \nHence, we use such a concept as the fluctuation motion of “charged fluid particles” \nor “charged fluid points” representing a charged longitudinal elastic wave. In turn, \nthis elastic wave is quantized by spinless longitudinal Bose \ncharged sound particles \nwith the rest mass \nm \nand charge \ne \n0 \n. The existence of spinless Bose \ncharged sound \nparticles \nallows us to present a new model for description of Bose or Fermi liquid \nvia a non-ideal Bose gas of \ncharged sound particles \n. In this respect, we introduce a \nnew postulation for the superfluid component of Bose or Fermi liquid determined by \nmeans of \ncharged sound particles \nin the condensate, which may explain the results of \nexperiments connected with ultra-cold Fermi gases of spin-polarized hydrogen, \n6 \nLi and \n40 \nK, and such a Bose gas as \n87 \nRb in the uppermost hyperfine state, where the Bose- \nEinstein condensation of \ncharged sound particles \nis realized by tuning the magnetic \nfield.
