Abstract

This paper presents a direct implementation scheme of the non-local multi-qubit controlled phase gate by using optical fibres and adiabatic passage. The smaller operation number for implementing the multi-qubit controlled phase gate and needlessness for addressing individually save physical resource and lower the difficulties of experiment. Meanwhile, the scheme is immune from some decoherence effects such as the atomic spontaneous emission and fibre loss. In principle, it is scalable.

Implementation of a remote three-qubit controlled-Z gate for atoms separately trapped in cavities coupled by optical fibres

Yan‐Ling Li, Mao-Fa Fang, Xing Mao Xiao +1 more

We propose a scheme for implementing a remote three-qubit controlled-Z gate with three atoms separately trapped in three distant cavities coupled by optical fibres. The influences of various decoherence processes, such as spontaneous emission of the atoms and photon leakage of the cavities and the optical fibres, on the fidelity are also investigated. It is found that the gate can be implemented with high fidelity even when these decoherence processes are considered. This scheme can be extended to the implementation of a remote N -qubit controlled-Z gate with N atoms separately trapped in N distant cavities coupled by optical fibres.

Conditional quantum controlled-phase gate between distant atoms in optical cavities

Dingguo Li

A scheme is proposed to implement a quantum controlled-phase gate between two four-level atoms inside the different optical cavities. The scheme combines the advantage of scalability from the photon and power of strong atom-photon coupling, which yields the desired unitary evolution operation. The scheme is immune to decoherence due to cavity photon decay and atomic spontaneous emission, and the operation is implemented probabilistically with a very high fidelity.

Fast CNOT gate via shortcuts to adiabatic passage

Zhe Wang, Yan Xia, Ye‐Hong Chen +1 more

Based on the shortcuts to adiabatic passage, we propose a scheme for directly implementing a controlled-not (CNOT) gate in a cavity quantum electrodynamics system. Moreover, we generalize the scheme to realize a CNOT gate in two separate cavities connected by an optical fiber. The strictly numerical simulation shows that the schemes are fast and insensitive to the decoherence caused by atomic spontaneous emission and photon leakage. In addition, the schemes can provide a theoretical basis for the manipulation of the multiqubit quantum gates in distant nodes of a quantum network.

Implementing Phase Gate Via Selective Resonant Interaction

Xiu‐Min Lin

A scheme is presented to implement phase gate in a high-Q optical cavity. In the scheme, the atom-field interaction is controlled highly to yield a resonant interaction inside one selected atom-field subspace and leave the others in large detuning, which can be eliminated adiabatically. The atomic spontaneous emission is suppressed effectively since atomic ground state is only involved, and needlessness for addressing individually the atoms inside the cavity further lowers the difficulties of experiment.

Implementing a high-efficiency quantum-controlled phase gate between long-distance atoms

Xiu‐Min Lin, Zheng-Wei Zhou, Ming-Yong Ye +2 more

We propose a scheme for the implementation of the quantum-controlled phase gate between distant atoms. Two special lasers adiabatically drive an atom trapped in a cavity that unidirectionally couples to the other cavity trapping an atom; then the phase gate between the two atoms is realized by introduction of measurement and local operations. The numerical simulations show that the quality factor of the gate operation is close to unity even if the atomic spontaneous emission is taken into account; the success probability approaches unity in principle.

Shortcuts to adiabatic passage for multiqubit controlled-phase gate

Yan Liang, Qi‐Cheng Wu, Shi‐Lei Su +2 more

We propose an alternative scheme of shortcuts to a quantum controlled phase gate in a much shorter time based on the approach of Lewis-Riesenfeld invariants in cavity quantum electrodynamics systems. This scheme can be used to perform a one-qubit phase gate, a two-qubit controlled phase gate, as well as a multiqubit controlled phase gate. The strict numerical simulations demonstrate that the total operation time for implementing controlled phase gates is much shorter than previous schemes and very robust against decoherence.
