Quantum state transfer between nitrogen-vacancy centers in coupled cavities via quantum Zeno dynamics

Abstract

We propose an efficient scheme to realize quantum state transfer (QST) in coupled cavities. An important advantage is that QST can be completed via quantum Zeno dynamics. During the process, the cavity fields are only virtually excited, which makes our protocol robust against the cavity decay. This scheme may provide useful applications in solid-state quantum information processing (QIP).

Atomic quantum state transferring and swapping via quantum Zeno dynamics

In this paper, we first demonstrate how to realize quantum state transferring (QST) from one atom to another based on quantum Zeno dynamics. Then, the QST protocol is generalized to realize the quantum state swapping (QSS) between two arbitrary atoms with the help of a third one. Furthermore, we also consider the QSS within a quantum network. The influence of decoherence is analyzed by numerical calculation. The results demonstrate that the protocols are robust against cavity decay.

Transfer of arbitrary quantum states between separated superconducting cavities via an ensemble of nitrogen-vacancy centers

Jin Xia Xu, Tong Liu

Transfer of quantum states between distant nodes is one of the most important preconditions for realizing large-scale quantum information processing. We here propose two ways to transfer an arbitrary quantum state between two separated superconducting cavities coupled to an ensemble of nitrogen-vacancy centers (NV ensemble). By using the double-swap scheme and theory of the dispersive regime, quantum states can be deterministically transferred between two superconducting cavities. With current hybrid circuit QED technology, the numerical simulations are performed to demonstrate that the single-photon state and cat state can be high-fidelity transferred between two superconducting cavities.

Effect of phase and modes coupling of whispering gallery modes on quantum state transfer between nitrogen vacancy centers

Hamad Ali, Abdul Basit

Abstract We theoretically investigate an efficient scheme for quantum state transfer (QST) between two nitrogen-vacancy (N-V) centers coupled to the whispering gallery modes (WGM) of a micro-resonator. We analyze the impact of mode coupling and the distance between two N-V centers on the dynamics of state transfer. Specifically, we explore QST under three coupling regimes:comparable coupling (J ≃ g), strong mode coupling J ≫ g, and weak mode coupling J ≪ g, also incorporating system decay factors (WGM decay Γ and N-V dephasing γ) at different interparticle distances. Our study shows that by adjusting the system control parameters, quantum information can be transferred between N-V centers with high efficiency. Additionally, the fidelity of QST reaches approximately 99% in all cases, with an oscillatory pattern, reflecting the intricate interplay between NV-resonator and mode coupling strengths. These findings underscore the importance of interparticle distance and mode coupling in the realization of solid-state qubit-based quantum information processing devices.

Quantum-information transfer with nitrogen-vacancy centers coupled to a whispering-gallery microresonator

Fuli Li, Shaoyan Gao, Fuli Li

We propose an efficient scheme for the realization of quantum information transfer and entanglement with nitrogen-vacancy (N-$V$) centers coupled to a high-$Q$ whispering-gallery mode (WGM) microresonator. We show that based on the effective dipole-dipole interaction between the N-$V$ centers mediated by the WGM, quantum information can be transferred between the N-$V$ centers through Raman transitions combined with laser fields. This protocol may open up promising possibilities for quantum communications with the solid-state quantum electrodynamic cavity system.

Entanglement of separate nitrogen-vacancy centers coupled to a whispering-gallery mode cavity

Wanli Yang, Zhenyu Xu, Mang Feng +1 more

We present a quantum electrodynamical model involving nitrogen-vacancy centers coupled to a whispering-gallery mode cavity. We consider two schemes to create the W state and Bell state, respectively. One scheme makes use of Raman transition with the cavity field virtually excited, and the other enables Bell state preparation and quantum information transfer by virtue of dark state evolution and adiabatic passage, which is tolerant to ambient noise and experimental parameter fluctuations. We justify our schemes by considering their experimental feasibility and challenge, using the currently available technology.

Quantum state transfer between nitrogen vacancy center ensembles in hybrid quantum system

Hamad Ali, Abdul Basit, Fazal Badshah +2 more

We propose a system for quantum state transfer (QST) between two nitrogen-vacancy center ensembles (NVEs) coupled to two transmission line resonators (TLRs) via flux qubits (FQs). We study the transfer of an arbitrary quantum state by various system's controlling parameters i.e. , the coupling between nitrogen vacancy ensembles g , the coupling strength between resonators λ for both the resonant and non-resonant interactions in the presence of decoherence. Furthermore, we investigate the dynamics of QST for three different cases, i.e. , g ≫ λ , g ≃ λ and g ≪ λ in detail. It is found that the quantum state can be efficiently transferred between NVEs for suitable values of controlling parameters. We observe that the fidelity of quantum state transfer is about 99 % in all cases for short operational time ( 0.45 μ s ) while in the presence of decoherence fidelity is above 96 % . This reveals that decoherence has no prominent effect on quantum state transfer.
