Anisotropic superconductivity driven by kinematic interaction

Abstract

We have analysed the effect of kinematic pairing on the symmetry of superconducting order parameter for a square lattice in the frame of the strongly correlated Hubbard model. It is argued that in the first perturbation order the kinematic interaction renormalizes the Hubbard-I dispersions and provides at low doping the mixed singlet ( s + s *)-wave superconductivity, giving way at higher doping to the triplet p -wave superconductivity. The obtained phase diagram depends only on the hopping integral parameter. The influence of the Coulomb repulsion on the kinematic superconducting pairing has been estimated. The ( s + s *)-wave gap and the thermodynamic critical magnetic field have been derived.

Kinematic spin-fluctuation mechanism of high-temperature superconductivity

Nikolay M. Plakida, V. S. Oudovenko

We study d-wave superconductivity in the extended Hubbard model in the strong correlation limit for a large intersite Coulomb repulsion V. We argue that in the Mott-Hubbard regime with two Hubbard subbands, there emerges a new energy scale for the spin-fluctuation coupling of electrons of the order of the electron kinetic energy W much larger than the exchange energy J. This coupling is induced by the kinematic interaction for the Hubbard operators, which results in the kinematic spin-fluctuation pairing mechanism for V ≲ W. The theory is based on the Mori projection technique in the equation of motion method for the Green’s functions in terms of the Hubbard operators. The doping dependence of the superconductivity temperature T c is calculated for various values of U and V.

p -wave superconductivity in weakly repulsive 2D Hubbard model with Zeeman splitting and weak Rashba spin-orbit coupling

Henning G. Hugdal, Asle Sudbø

We study the superconducting order in a two-dimensional square lattice Hubbard model with weak repulsive interactions, subject to a Zeeman field and weak Rashba spin-orbit interactions. Diagonalizing the noninteracting Hamiltonian leads to two separate bands, and by deriving an effective low-energy interaction we find the mean field gap equations for the superconducting order parameter on the bands. Solving the gap equations just below the critical temperature, we find that superconductivity is caused by Kohn-Luttinger-type interaction, while the pairing symmetry of the bands is indirectly affected by the spin-orbit coupling. The dominating attractive momentum channel of the Kohn-Luttinger term depends on the filling fraction $n$ of the system, and it is therefore possible to change the momentum dependence of the order parameter by tuning $n$. Moreover, $n$ also determines which band has the highest critical temperature. Rotating the magnetic field changes the momentum dependence from states that for small momenta reduce to a chiral ${p}_{x}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}i{p}_{y}$ type state for out-of-plane fields, to a nodal $p$-wave-type state for purely in-plane fields.

Correlation-renormalized electron-phonon interaction in the two-dimensional Hubbard model

Marcin Mierzejewski, J. Zieliński, P. Entel

We have addressed the problem of the influence of Coulomb correlations on the electron-phonon interaction in the two-dimensional Hubbard model. Both the energy and momentum dependence of the renormalization factor have been taken into account. We find that the superconducting properties of the system depend strongly on the phononic momentum and energy transfer values. This dependence is related to the symmetry of the superconducting order parameter. On one hand, the renormalization of the electron-phonon coupling function acts to the detriment of superconductivity in the s-wave channel. On the other hand, an enhancement of pairing correlations for anisotropic extended s-wave and d-wave superconductivity is observed.

Spin singlet and triplet superconductivity in the extended Hubbard model with anisotropic exchange interaction

Yoshiki Hori, Akira Goto

We study the effect of the nearest neighbor anisotropic exchange interaction on superconductivity in extended Hubbard model in a square lattice. This Hamiltonian is one of a base model to describe various effects on triplet superconductors, e.g. Sr 2 RuO 4 , because the ferromagnetic exchange is advantagous for triplet pairing. Within a one-band meanfield approximation, we calculate the critical temperatures of spin singlet and triplet superconductivity. We obtain a phase diagram in the longitudinal vs transverse exchange couplings and we show how the stable pairing state is controlled by the anisotropy of the exchange interaction.
