Establishment of multiparticle maximal entanglement from nonmaximally entangled pairs in a communication network

Abstract

We describe a protocol for establishing multiparticle entanglement among particles belonging to distant users using nonmaximally entangled pairs in a communication network. Each of the users shares nonmaximally entangled pairs with the control centre. A series of controlled-not operations, measurements and a one-qubit rotation are performed at the control centre. Then the particles belonging to the users collapse to a maximally or nonmaximally entangled state. Any user may concentrate the nonmaximally entangled state into a maximally entangled state probabilistically.

Multiparticle generalization of entanglement swapping

Sougato Bose, Vlatko Vedral, P. L. Knight

We generalize the procedure of entanglement swapping to obtain a scheme for manipulating entanglement in multiparticle systems. We describe how this scheme allows one to establish multiparticle entanglement between particles belonging to distant users in a communication network through a prior distribution of singlets followed by only local measurements. We show that this scheme can be regarded as a method of generating entangled states of many particles and compare it with existing schemes using simple quantum computational networks. We highlight the practical advantages of using a series of entanglement swappings during the distribution of entangled particles between two parties. Applications of multiparticle entangled states in cryptographic conferencing and in reading messages from more than one source through a single measurement are also described.

Protocol for deterministic entanglement concentration of three pairs of partially entangled particles

Wen-Zhao Zhang, Wendong Li, Shi Peng +1 more

According to the Nielsens theorem and the basic idea of entanglement concentration, we improve and extend the deterministic entanglement concentration protocol that extracts one pair of maximally entangled particles out of two pairs of non-maximally entangled particles, thus establishing a deterministic entanglement concentration protocol that extracts two pairs of maximally entangled particles out of three pairs of non-maximally entangled particles in the way of the classical communication and local operation and the specific positive operator-valued measure. This is helpful for establishing a deterministic entanglement concentration protocol that extracts k pairs of maximally entangled particles out of n pairs of non-maximally entangled particles.

Manipulation of Entangled States for Quantum Information Processing

Sougato Bose, Susana F. Huelga, Daniel Jonathan +4 more

Entanglement manipulation, and especially Entanglement Swapping is at the heart of current work on quantum information processing, purification and quantum teleportation. We will discuss how it may be generalized to multiparticle systems and how this enables multi-user quantum cryptographic protocols to be developed. Our scheme allows us to establish multiparticle entanglement between particles which belong to distant users in a communication network through a prior distribution of Bell state singlets followed by local measurements. We compare our method for generating entanglement with existing schemes using simple quantum networks, and highlight the advantages and applications in cryptographic conferencing and in reading messages from more than one source through a single quantum measurement. We also discuss how entanglement leads to the idea of ‘telecloning’, in which a teleportation-like protocol can be found which reproduces the output of an optimal quantum cloning machine. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.

REMOTE INTERACTIONS ON DISTRIBUTED QUANTUM SYSTEMS: NON-LOCAL CONDITIONAL OPERATIONS AND PRODUCTION OF MULTIPARTICLE ENTANGLED STATE

Libing Chen, Haiping Lu, Weicheng Chen

We present a systematic simple method for constructing non-local quantum conditional rotation with single target and multiple targets operations. We firstly show how a non-local conditional rotation with single target operation can be implemented with unit fidelity and unit probability by using a maximally entangled pair as quantum channel. We also put forward a scheme for probabilistically implementing the operation with unit fidelity by employing a partially entangled pair as quantum channel. The required physical resources for implementation of the non-local operation in these two cases are discussed. We further consider non-local conditional rotation with multiple targets operations on N spatially distributed systems, and show that the number of possible distinct operations increases here exponentially, with the available number of entangled pairs that are initially distributed between systems. We also point out that the non-local conditional rotation operation can be used to generate multiparticle entanglement between particles belonging to distant users in a communication network and distributed quantum computer.

Quantum networks for concentrating entanglement

Phillip Kaye, Michele Mosca

If two parties, Alice and Bob, share some number, n , of partially entangled pairs of qubits, then it is possible for them to concentrate these pairs into some smaller number of maximally entangled states. We present a simplified version of the algorithm for such entanglement concentration , and we describe efficient networks for implementing these operations.

Controlled quantum secure direct communication protocol with nonmaximal entangled state

Hongmei Huang

We present a multiparty controlled quantum secure direct communication protocol with the nonmaximal entangled state. The communication parties utilize decoy photons to check eavesdropping. The sender encodes the secret message on the different two particle states directly, controllers carry one united operation on the one of the particle sequence random, the receiver only can recover the secret message under the permission of all the controllers. It is the nonmaximal entangled channel and not easy to be influenced, the protocol is can be realized with existing technique for the two particles state is easy to prepared, all particles are used to transmit secret message, the qubit efficiency is high.
