ENTANGLEMENT DYNAMICS MODULATED BY COUPLING STRENGTH IN CAVITY QED

Abstract

We study the dynamics of entanglement for a four-qubit system in cavity QED. Two initially entangled atoms A and B are coupled respectively with spatially separate cavities a and b with coupling strengths gA and gB. We show that when gA ≠ gB, the entanglement will oscillate in the period of entanglement sudden death (ESD) for gA = gB, and the oscillation times are related to the ratios between gA and gB. Also, we show that the coupling strengths have the same effects on the entanglement evolution and energy transfer.

Entanglement dynamics for a six-qubit model in cavity QED

Zhong‐Xiao Man, Yun‐Jie Xia, Nguyen Ba An

We study entanglement dynamics for a six-qubit model in cavity QED, where three two-level atoms A , B and C are initially prepared in a Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ)-like state and locally coupled with the independent cavities a , b and c , respectively. We consider entanglement evolution via negativity for the tripartite subsystems of atoms and the corresponding cavities. By choosing two types of GHZ-like states as atomic initial states, we shall show that the entanglement of atoms may or may not exhibit entanglement sudden death (ESD) depending on the type of atomic initial state.

Atomic entanglement sudden death in a strongly driven cavity QED system

Ying-Jie Zhang, Zhong‐Xiao Man, Yun‐Jie Xia

We study the entanglement dynamics of strongly driven atoms off-resonantly coupled with cavity fields. We consider conditions characterized not only by the atom-field coupling but also by the atom-field detuning. By studying two different models within the framework of cavity QED, we show that the so-called atomic entanglement sudden death (ESD) always occurs if the atom-field coupling lager than the atom-field detuning, and is independent of the type of initial atomic state.

ENTANGLEMENT VERSUS ENERGY IN MULTIQUBIT ENTANGLEMENT DYNAMICS PROBLEM

Feng Han, Yun‐Jie Xia

We study the relation between energy and entanglement in a multiqubit entanglement dynamics problem in cavity QED. The model consists of three two-level atoms A, B and C which are initially prepared in a Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger-like state and locally coupled with independent cavities a, b and c, respectively. We shall show that the dynamical evolution of atomic entanglement is closely related to that of their energy.

Controlling entanglement dynamics via Raman interaction in two-mode cavity QED

Wan-Jun Su, Xiu Ru Lin

We investigate the entanglement dynamics of an entangled atom pair via Wootters' concurrence. Only one atom of the pair interacts with a two-mode cavity field via a Raman interaction. The number simulation shows that the entanglement of the atom pair will display sudden death and revival phenomena when the cavity photon numbers and the two-mode atom–cavity coupling strengths are changed. Due to the two-mode field effect, the entanglement sudden death phenomenon will disappear more easily by enlarging the different cavity mode–atom coupling ratio. The oscillation rate of the concurrence is enlarged by increasing the mean photon number of the cavity field.

ATOMIC TUNNELING AND ENTANGLEMENT SUDDEN DEATH IN A DISSIPATIVE ATOM-CAVITY SYSTEM

J. Q. Shen, JIAO CHEN, Wei Wang +1 more

In this paper, we study the effect of atom decay on the atomic tunneling and entanglement dynamics in an atom-cavity system. This system consists of an atom trapped in a double-well potential and a cavity that couples to the atom. The population of the atom in the left/right well and the dynamics of entanglement are calculated and discussed. We find that the tunneling behaves as a damping-oscillating function of time, and the entanglement between the internal and external degree of freedom of the atom exhibits entanglement sudden death (ESD).

Quantum Entanglement Dynamics of Two Atoms in Two Coupled Cavities

Rong‐Can Yang, Pengfei Zhang, Yanqiang Guo +1 more

Quantum entanglement dynamics for two atoms trapped in two coupled cavities is investigated. Numerical results show that the present of the two atomic excitations is mainly accounted for the entanglement-sudden-death (ESD) effect with the two cavities initially in the vacuum. The entanglement can also be controlled by the hopping rate and the imbalances between the two atom-cavity coupling rates.
