Linear Potentials, Airy Wave Packets and Airy Transform

G. Dattoli, Жуковский Константин Владимирович

The solution of the Schrodinger equation with a linear potential is considered. We use algebraic methods to obtain the explicit form of the solution for the explicitly time dependent Hamiltonian and discuss the general conditions which allow us to get solutions in terms of the Airy functions, yelding non spreading wave packets. We analyze the relevant physical meaning of these solutions and give examples of their applications. We discuss the analogy between Airy and Gauss-Weirestrass transform.

Airy wavepacket solutions of the Schrödinger equation

John Lekner

A Galilean boost to a frame moving with a complex velocity transforms the Berry–Balazs Airy function solution of the time-dependent Schrodinger equation into a square-integrable wavepacket. This packet has fixed momentum and energy; it contracts as time increases to zero, and then spreads again. The Berry–Balazs solution is revealed as a limiting form of a well-behaved free particle wavepacket. The topic is suitable for graduate or advanced undergraduate quantum mechanics courses.

Fractionality-induced deformation in Airy and Hermit-Gaussian wavepackets traveling through the Gaussian wells

Davood Haji Taghi Tehrani, M. Solaimani

In this study, we investigate the transport properties of Airy and Hermit-Gaussian wavepackets traveling through a Gaussian potential well in the standard and fractional media. We use a split step Fourier method to solve the corresponding two-dimensional fractional nonlinear linear Schrodinger equation. We study the interference phenomenon, Huygens principle and trapping properties of the system in different situations. For this purpose, the position of the system has also selected inside the potential well to consider the wavepacket evolution. Then, the effect of the well and incident wavepackets parameters on the evolution the transport properties of employed wavepackets have properly been considered.
