He–McKellar–Wilkens effect and scalar Aharonov–Bohm effect for a neutral particle based on the Lorentz symmetry violation

K Bakke, E O Silva, H. Belich

In this contribution, we discuss the He–McKellar–Wilkens effect and the scalar Aharonov–Bohm effect for neutral particles based on the Lorentz symmetry violation background, by showing that the background of the Lorentz symmetry violation yields Abelian quantum phases for a neutral particle. We also study the non-relativistic bound states for a neutral particle interacting with a Coulomb-like potential based on the Lorentz symmetry violation background given by a fixed vector field parallel to the radial direction.

Quantum Field Theory Beyond the S-Matrix Formalism

Igor' Pavlovich Volobuev, Vadim Olegovich Egorov

Abstract Particle transitions passing over finite space and time intervals are self-consistently described within a novel quantum field-theoretical approach based on Feynman diagrams in configuration space. The transition to momentum space is performed following the rules modified so as to consider the geometry of neutral-meson and neutrino oscillation experiments. Using the processes of decay of an unstable scalar particle at a macroscopic distance from the source and of neutral kaon and neutrino oscillations as examples, we demonstrate that their known characteristics are adequately reproduced within the proposed approach.

Renormalization group properties of scalar field theories using gradient flow

Andrea Carosso, Anna Hasenfratz A, E. T. Neil

Gradient flow has proved useful in the definition and measurement of renormalized quantities on the lattice. Recently, the fact that it suppresses high-modes of the field has been used to construct new, continuous RG transformations both analytically and on the lattice, distinct from the usual blocking techniques in spin models and gauge theories. In this work, we discuss such a formulation for scalar field theory, and we present preliminary numerical results for its application to the determination of critical exponents at the Wilson-Fisher fixed point of three-dimensional $\phi^4$ theory.
