Entanglement Evolution of Three-Qubit States under Local Decoherence

Abstract

By using negativity as entanglement measure, we have investigated the effect of local decoherence from a non-Markovian environment on the time evolution of entanglement of three-qubit states including the GHZ state, the W state, and the Werner state. From the results, we find that the entanglement dynamics depends not only on the coupling strengths but also on the specific states of concern. Specifically, the entanglement takes different behaviors under weak or strong coupling and it varies with the quantum states under study. The entanglement of the GHZ state and the Werner state can be destroyed completely by the local decoherence, while the entanglement of the W state can survive through the local decoherence partially.

ENTANGLEMENT DYNAMICS OF THREE-QUBIT STATES UNDER A SPIN ENVIRONMENT

XIAO SAN MA, Gao Sheng Liu, An Min Wang

In this paper, we investigate the entanglement dynamics of three-qubit states under a spin environment. From the analysis, we find that the entanglement dynamics of the three-qubit states depends not only on the coupling strength between the system and the environment and the number of degrees of freedom of the environment but also on the tunneling matrix elements of the spin environment and the specific state of concern. Specifically, the entanglement dynamics of the GHZ state, the W state, and the Werner state have been analyzed in detail and the conditions to identify the decoherence-free subspaces of our model have been discussed.

Entanglement evolution of three-qubit states in a quantum-critical environment

XIAO SAN MA, An Min Wang, Ya Cao

We investigate the entanglement dynamics of three-qubit states in a quantum-critical environment, which is an Ising model in a transverse field. By using negativity as entanglement measure, we find that the entanglement evolution depends not only on the system-environment couplings and the size of degrees of freedom of environment but also on the strength of transverse field and the symmetry of quantum states of concern. In particular, for the cases under study, our results imply that the entanglement decay can be enhanced by the quantum phase transition of the environment under weak coupling. Our analysis implies that the entanglement of any three-qubit quantum state will be completely destroyed by the decoherence under certain conditions, that we detail below.

ENTANGLEMENT DYNAMICS OF THREE-QUBIT SYSTEM IN A COMMON NON-MARKOVIAN RESERVOIR

Yanhui Wang, Zhong‐Xiao Man, Ying-Jie Zhang +1 more

We study the entanglement dynamics of three two-level atoms interacting with a structured reservoir. The atoms are initially prepared in a mixed W state while the reservoir is in the vacuum. We show the dependence of entanglement dynamics on the purity of initial atomic state and on the amount of non-Markovianity. When the initial state of atoms is in a W pure state, the entanglement will decay asymptotically, while it vanishes in a finite time if the initial state is in a mixed W state. In addition, as the memory effect of the environment, entanglement can partially revive after it vanishes, and the revival degree is dependent on the strength of non-Markovian effect. In the end, we consider the entanglement generation and its evolution when the initial state of the atoms system is completely separable.

Quantum W-Type Entanglement in Photonic Systems with Environmental Decoherence

K. Berrada, Smail B. Bougouffa

Preserving quantum entanglement in multipartite systems under environmental decoherence is a critical challenge for quantum information processing. In this work, we investigate the dynamics of W-type entanglement in a system of three photons, focusing on the effects of Markovian and non-Markovian decoherence regimes. Using the lower bound of concurrence (LBC) as a measure of entanglement, we analyze the time evolution of the LBC for photons initially prepared in a W state under the influence of dephasing noise. We explore the dependence of entanglement dynamics on system parameters such as the dephasing angle and refractive-index difference, alongside environmental spectral properties. Our results, obtained within experimentally feasible parameter ranges, reveal how the enhancement of entanglement preservation can be achieved in Markovian and non-Markovian regimes according to the system parameters. These findings provide valuable insights into the robustness of W-state entanglement in tripartite photonic systems and offer practical guidance for optimizing quantum protocols in noisy environments.

Entanglement persistence in contact with the environment: exact results

Jerzy Dajka, Marcin Mierzejewski, J. Łuczka

The evolution of quantum entanglement of a pair of non-interacting qubits is studied for the case where one of them is non-dissipatively but dephasingly coupled to the environment. The reduced non-Markovian dynamics of the qubits is exact for an arbitrary strength of coupling to the environment and the arbitrary frequency spectrum of environment fluctuations. While for the subohmic and ohmic environments the entanglement diminishes, for the superohmic zero-temperature environment it survives for a long time.

Entanglement Dynamics Governed by Time-Dependent Quantum Generators

Artur Czerwiński

In the article, we investigate entanglement dynamics defined by time-dependent linear generators. We consider multilevel quantum systems coupled to an environment that induces decoherence and dissipation, such that the relaxation rates depend on time. By applying the condition of partial commutativity, one can precisely describe the dynamics of selected subsystems. More specifically, we investigate the dynamics of entangled states. The concurrence is used to quantify the amount of two-qubit entanglement in the time domain. The framework appears to be an efficient tool for investigating quantum evolution of entangled states driven by time-local generators. In particular, non-Markovian effects can be included to observe the restoration of entanglement in time.
