Abstract

Motivated by the Möbius transformation for symmetric points under the generalized circle in the complex plane, the system of symmetric spin coherent states corresponding to antipodal qubit states is introduced. In terms of these states, we construct the maximally entangled complete set of two-qubit coherent states, which in the limiting cases reduces to the Bell basis. A specific property of our symmetric coherent states is that they never become unentangled for any value of ψ from the complex plane. Entanglement quantifications of our states are given by the reduced density matrix and the concurrence determinant, and it is shown that our basis is maximally entangled. Universal one- and two-qubit gates in these new coherent state basis are calculated. As an application, we find the Q symbol of the XY Z model Hamiltonian operator H as an average energy function in maximally entangled two- and three-qubit phase space. It shows regular finite-energy localized structure with specific local extremum points. The concurrence and fidelity of quantum evolution with dimerization of double periodic patterns are given.

Solitons in Maximally Entangled Two Qubit Phase Space

Oktay K. Pashaev, Zeynep Nilhan Gürkan

Motivated by Möbius transformation for symmetrical points under the generalized circle in complex plane, the system of symmetrical spin coherent states corresponding to antipodal qubit states is introduced. It implies the maximally entangled spin coherent states basis, which in the limiting cases reduces to the Bell basis. A specific property of our symmetric image coherent states is that they never become unentangled for any value of $ψ$ from complex plane. By the reduced density matrix and the concurrence determinant methods, it is shown that our basis is maximally entangled. In addition we find that the average of spin operators in these states vanish, as it must be according to another, operational definition of completely entangled states. Universal one qubit and two qubit gates in this new basis are calculated and time evolution of these states for some spin systems is derived. We find that the average energy for XYZ model in two qubit case (Q symbol of H) shows regular finite energy localized structure with characteristic extremum points, and appears as a soliton in maximally entangled two qubit phase space. Generalizations to three and higher qubit states are discussed.

Entangling power of symmetric two-qubit quantum gates and three-level operations

Diego Morachis Galindo, Jesús A. Maytorena

The capacity of a quantum gate to produce entangled states on a bipartite system is quantified in terms of the entangling power. This quantity is defined as the average of the linear entropy of entanglement of the states produced after applying a quantum gate over the whole set of separable states. Here we focus on symmetric two-qubit quantum gates, acting on the symmetric two-qubit space, and calculate the entangling power in terms of the appropriate local invariant. A geometric description of the local equivalence classes of gates is given in terms of the $\text{su}(3)$ Lie algebra root vectors. These vectors define a primitive cell with hexagonal symmetry on a plane, and through the Weyl group the minimum area on the plane containing the whole set of locally equivalent quantum gates is identified. We give conditions to determine when a given quantum gate produces maximally entangled states from separable ones (perfect entanglers). We find that these gates correspond to one-fourth of the whole set of locally distinct quantum gates. The formalism developed here is applicable to general three-level systems. Via the Majorana representation, qutrit transformations can be regarded as having entangling power and hence classified as perfect and nonperfect entanglers and be grouped into local-equivalence classes of the associated symmetric two-qubit space. The results are illustrated by an anisotropic Heisenberg model, the Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick model, and two coupled quantized oscillators with cross-Kerr interaction, which we use to obtain three-level gates relevant in qutrit quantum computation.

Entanglement of General Two-Qubit States in a Realistic Framework

S. Abdel‐Khalek, K. Berrada, Eied Mahmoud Khalil +1 more

In the present paper, we examine the quantum entanglement for more general states of two-qubit system in the context of spin coherent states (SCSs). We consider the concurrence as a quantifier of entanglement and express it in terms of SCSs. We determine new set of maximally entangled conditions that provide the maximal amount of entanglement for certain values of the amplitudes of SCSs for the case of pure states. Finally, we examine the entanglement of a class of mixed states of the two qubits and provide the range in which the entanglement value is maximal with respect to the values of the amplitudes of SCSs.

Symmetric two qubit gates

Swarnamala Sirsi, Veena Adiga, Subramanya Hegde

Our work addresses the problem of generating maximally entangled two spin-1/2 (qubit) symmetric states using NMR, NQR, Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick Hamiltonians. Time evolution of such Hamiltonians provides various logic gates which can be used for quantum processing tasks. Pairs of spin-1/2's have modeled a wide range of problems in physics. Here we are interested in two spin-1/2 symmetric states which belong to a subspace spanned by the angular momentum basis {|j = 1, {\mu}>; {\mu} = +1, 0,-1}. Our technique relies on the decomposition of a Hamiltonian in terms of SU(3) generators. In this context, we define a set of linearly independent, traceless, Hermitian operators which provides an alternate set of SU(n) generators. These matrices are constructed out of angular momentum operators Jx,Jy,Jz. We construct and study the properties of perfect entanglers acting on a symmetric subspace i.e., spin-1 operators that can generate maximally entangled states from some suitably chosen initial separable states in terms of their entangling power.

Apollonius Representation and Complex Geometry of Entangled Qubit States

Tuğçe Parlakgörür, Oktay K. Pashaev

A representation of one qubit state by points in complex plane is proposed, such that the computational basis corresponds to two fixed points at a finite distance in the plane. These points represent common symmetric states for the set of quantum states on Apollonius circles. It is shown that, the Shannon entropy of one qubit state depends on ratio of probabilities and is a constant along Apollonius circles. For two qubit state and for three qubit state in Apollonius representation, the concurrence for entanglement and the Cayley hyperdeterminant for tritanglement correspondingly, are constant on the circles as well. Similar results are obtained also for n-tangle hyperdeterminant with even number of qubit states. It turns out that, for arbitrary multiple qubit state in Apollonius representation, fidelity between symmetric qubit states is also constant on Apollonius circles. According to these, the Apollonius circles are interpreted as integral curves for entanglement characteristics. The bipolar and the Cassini representations for qubit state are introduced, and their relations with qubit coherent states are established. We proposed the differential geometry for qubit states in Apollonius representation, defined by the metric on a surface in conformal coordinates, as square of the concurrence. The surfaces of the concurrence, as surfaces of revolution in Euclidean and Minkowski spaces are constructed. It is shown that, curves on these surfaces with constant Gaussian curvature becomes Cassini curves.
