Abstract

We investigate the effects of the time-dependent magnetic field (TDMF) and partial-collapse quantum measurements (PCQMs) on the information flow of a superconducting flux qubit coupled to a reservoir and find that the information flow is equivalent to the quantum Fisher information flow in the resonant case. A scheme is proposed to preserve the quantum correlations of two uncoupled flux qubits interacting with independent reservoirs via PCQMs and TDMFs, and steady amount of entanglement can be achieved by the PCQMs. We also discuss the effect of TDMF on the dynamics of the entanglement and show distinct behaviors in the Markovian and non-Markovian regimes. Finally, we explore the influence of non-Markovian effect on the dynamics of entanglement under the combined action of TDMFs and PCQMs and show that the combined action of TDMFs and PCQMs can protect entanglement better for some situations.

Discontinuity and Protection of Quantum Fisher Information for a Two-Qubit System*

Guoyou Wang, Ji-Bing Yuan, Hao‐Sheng Zeng

Abstract We analytically investigate the dynamics of quantum Fisher information of two qubits in independent environments for both uncorrelated and entangled input states. Especially, we observe that, in the non-Markovian regime and resonant case, quantum Fisher information of uncorrelated input state vanishes only at discrete time point whereas that of entangled input state can disappear during finite time interval. It shows that quantum Fisher information, which determines the parameter estimation precision, is strongly affected by the environment memory effects, and the advantage of entanglement-enhance metrology no longer exists even for a very short time. We also note that quantum Fisher information for two kinds of input states can be preserved under appropriate qubit-reservoir detuning.

Time evolution of quantum correlations in superconducting flux-qubits under classical noises

Tchoffo Martin, Arthur Tsamouo Tsokeng, Fouokeng Georges Collince +1 more

We analyze the dynamics of both entanglement and quantum discord (QD) in a system of two non-interacting flux-qubits initially prepared in a Bell's state and subjected to either static or random telegraph noises (RTNs). Both independent and common sources of system-environment coupling are considered either in the Markovian or non-Markovian regime and the results are compared to those of ordinary qubits. Under suitable conditions, both entanglement and QD are more robust in flux-qubit systems than classical ones. In the Markovian regime where the decay is monotonic, they are both stronger in different environment coupling than in common coupling, while the opposite is found in the non-Markovian regime where the dynamics is stressed by sudden death and revival phenomena, more robust in qubits than in flux-qubits under dynamical RTN. Weakness of revival amplitudes is interpreted as a noise spectrum-related induced interaction affecting quantum features of the system, while energy level non-degeneracy (at zero-splitting) of flux-qubits induces a phase factor that set conditions under which entangled states can be experimentally witnessed in flux-qubit systems. Note that the energy levels non-degeneracy has no particular effect on other entanglement measures apart from entanglement witnesses.

Quantum scheme of dissipative two qubits in a squeezed field: Entanglement and Fisher information

S. Abdel‐Khalek, Eied Mahmoud Khalil, Hammad Alotaibi +3 more

A clear relationship between the quantum version of Fisher information and the bipartite system entanglement has been explored recently. Known existing results for some quantum systems having strongly nonlocal correlations are still limited. In this paper, based on the interaction between a two-qubit and squeezed field, we investigate the correlation between the dynamical behavior of qubit-qubit entanglement and the quantum Fisher information (QFI). We focus on the effect of a number of photon multiplicity, low and high squeezing regime of the field on the dynamics of the QFI and entanglement quantifier. We show how the QFI and entanglement quantifier can be affected by the number of photon multiplicity and squeeze parameter during the time evolution of cases of absence and presence of dissipation effect. Our results exhibit the correlation between the entanglement quantifiers and the QFI with respect to the appearance of collapse and revival phenomena of the atomic inversion.

Coherence and entanglement in non-Markovian dynamics of qubits

Cristian E. Susa, John Henry Reina

We provide a thorough analysis of the entanglement dynamics of an interacting two-qubit system in the non-Markovian regime. In such a regime, the time scale on which the reservoir degrees of freedom evolve is either of the same order of magnitude or less than that on which the system evolves. We used an exact numerical method; the Quasi-Adiabatic Path Integral (QUAPI) technique, to describe the corresponding qubit dissipative dynamics in such a non-Markovian regime. We computed the time evolution of the density operator for the quibits, from which we quantified the coherences and population dynamics, as well as the qubit-bath coupling effects. Using negativity as a metric, we calculated the dynamics of non-local quantum correlations (entanglement), and indentified a non-Markovian quantum phenomena in terms of early stage disentanglement, and the collapse and revival of entanglement.

Modulating quantum Fisher information of qubit in dissipative cavity by coupling strength

Danping Lin, Yu Liu, Hong-Mei Zou

By using the non-Markovian master equation, we investigate the effect of the cavity and the environment on the quantum Fisher information (QFI) of an atom qubit system in a dissipation cavity. We obtain the formulae of QFI for two different initial states and analyze the effect of the atom–cavity coupling and the cavity–reservoir coupling on the QFI. The results show that the dynamic behavior of the QFI is obviously dependent on the initial atomic states, the atom–cavity coupling, and the cavity–reservoir coupling. The stronger the atom–cavity coupling, the quicker the QFI oscillates, and the slower the QFI decreases. In particular, the QFI will tend to be a stable value rather than zero if the atom–cavity coupling is large enough. On the other hand, the smaller the cavity–reservoir coupling, the stronger the non-Markovian effect, and the slower the QFI decays. In other words, choosing the best parameter can improve the accuracy of the parameter estimation. In addition, the physical explanation of the dynamic behavior of the QFI is given by means of the QFI flow.

Dynamics of entanglement protection of two qubits using a driven laser field and detunings: Independent and common, Markovian and/or non-Markovian regimes

Sare Golkar, Mohammad Kazem Tavassoly

Preventing quantum entanglement from decoherence effect is of theoretical and practical importance in the quantum information processing technologies. In this regard, we consider the entanglement dynamics of two identical qubits where the qubits which are coupled to two independent (Markovian and/or non-Markovian) as well as a common reservoir at zero temperature are further interacted with a classical driving laser field. Then, we study the preservation of generated two-qubit entanglement in various situations using the concurrence measure. It is shown that by applying the classical driving field and so the possibility of controlling the Rabi frequency, the amount of entanglement of the two-qubit system is improved in the off-resonance condition between the qubit and the central cavity frequencies (central detuning) in both non-Markovian and Markovian reservoirs. While the central detuning has a constructive role, the detuning between the qubit and the classical field (laser detuning) affects negatively on the entanglement protection. The obtained results show that long-living entanglement in the non-Markovian reservoir is more accessible than in the Markovian reservoir. We demonstrate that, in a common reservoir non-zero stationary entanglement is achievable whenever the two-qubit system is coupled to the reservoir with appropriate values of relative coupling strengths.
