The de Broglie wave phenomenon was studied in the framework of Lagrangean formulation of Relativistic Mechanics. The conclusion was made that the de Broglie wave of a particle is a relativistic phenomenon related to the field-dependent proper mass. The wave develops in a process of proper-to-kinetic mass transformation when the particle is given a momentum. The time-part of the 4-wave vector is related to the proper mass oscillation while the spacial part is due to the momentum; both parts can be treated in terms of virtual (longitudinal and scalar) photons characterizing excitation states of a mediating scalar field. It is shown that in Relativistic Mechanics with the variable proper mass both electromagnetic and gravitational force can be treated on the same footing: both are due to the same source that is, the proper mass. Consequently, the scalar mediating field provides a mechanism of unification of gravitational and electromagnetic forces. The concept of the unified divergence-free field is suggested, in which the real (transverse) photon represents a pure space-like particle while the neutrino is a pure time-like particle. In this connection, the parity problem is discussed.

In this paper, we have considered that the particle velocity in the matter wave concept of de Broglie is relative. It reveals that matter wave associated with a moving particle is a photon wave which has longitudinal and transverse values. The conventional de-Broglie’s wavelength-momentum relation corresponds to the longitudinal wave. As a consequence, we have found the longitudinal and transverse relative values of the mass, time, length and velocity including the missing equations of Einstein’s theory of special relativity. It also reveals that momentum and energy are relative quantities and the corresponding expressions for the longitudinal and transverse values for both of them have been presented. Moreover, the addition rules, with a general expression, for all the relative quantities based on Lorentz-Einstein transformation law for the addition of velocities have been given. Finally, the maximum and minimum values of the relative quantities have been expressed in terms of Plank’s constant and the speed of light. Their numerical values have also been calculated and presented in this paper.
Aiming at the theoretical gap in the traditional de Broglie wave theory that fails to clarify the physical excitation mechanism of matter waves, this paper proposes the de Broglie Wave-Virtual Photon Exchange Synchronization Law, and reveals the intrinsic physical origin of de Broglie matter waves from the perspective of virtual photon exchange. Based on the well-recognized physical formulas including the de Broglie energy-frequency relation, the relativistic energy-momentum relation and the core equations of quantum electrodynamics (QED), this paper conducts strict quantitative deduction and derives the de Broglie Wave-Virtual Photon Exchange Synchronization Formulathat characterizes the correlation between virtual photon exchange and the variation of de Broglie waves. Through physical analysis of the formula, it is concluded that the de Broglie matter wave is not an intrinsic and spontaneous property of particles, but a dynamic wave effect directly excited by the momentum exchange between virtual photons and particles in electromagnetic interaction. The frequency, wavelength and wave characteristics of the de Broglie wave are uniquely determined by the intensity and exchange frequency of virtual photon exchange, and the two physical quantities maintain strict synchronization in the process of physical evolution. In addition, this paper clarifies the velocity-dependent modulation effect of virtual photon exchange on de Broglie waves: the modulation effect is weak at low velocities, strengthens significantly at high velocities, and the key wave characteristic parameters (frequency, momentum correlation) of de Broglie waves and virtual photons achieve quantitative unification when the particle velocity approaches the speed of light. This theory establishes a strict, quantitative and unified correlation between the virtual photon exchange mechanism and the origin of de Broglie waves, perfects the physical interpretation of the origin of matter waves, and provides a new theoretical perspective for the study of wave-particle duality and the electromagnetic interaction of microscopic particles.
We will here show that there is one more relativistic wave equation rooted in the relativistic energy Compton moment relation, which should not be confused with the standard relativistic energy momentum relation. The standard momentum is, from a quantum perspective, rooted in the de Broglie wave. The de Broglie wave is not mathematically defined for rest-mass particles and has strange properties such as converging to infinity when the particle is almost at rest. As mentioned in the previous paper, the de Broglie wave is likely just a mathematical derivative of the true matter wave, which we have good reasons to think is the Compton wave. A wave equation that satisfies the relativistic energy Compton momentum relation will, in addition automatically satisfy the standard relativistic energy momentum relation, so there is no conflict between these two relations. The new one related to Compton is just the deeper reality and help explain why it gives simpler and more elegant relativistic wave equations, which are likely easier to interpret in terms of the physical reality.
To address the theoretical gap in traditional de Broglie wave theory that fails to clarify the physical excitation mechanism of matter waves, this paper proposes the de Broglie Wave-Virtual Photon Exchange Synchronization Law and reveals the intrinsic physical origin of de Broglie matter waves from the perspective of virtual photon exchange. Based on well-recognized physical formulas including the de Broglie energy-frequency relation, the relativistic energy-momentum relation, and the core equations of quantum electrodynamics (QED), this paper carries out rigorous quantitative derivation and obtains the de Broglie Wave-Virtual Photon Exchange Synchronization Formula , which describes the relation between virtual photon exchange and the evolution of de Broglie waves. Physical analysis of the formula shows that the de Broglie matter wave is not an intrinsic and spontaneous property of particles, but a dynamic wave effect directly excited by momentum exchange between virtual photons and particles in electromagnetic interaction. The frequency, wavelength, and wave properties of the de Broglie wave are uniquely determined by the intensity and frequency of virtual photon exchange, and the two sets of physical quantities maintain strict synchronization during physical evolution. In addition, this paper clarifies the velocity-dependent modulation effect of virtual photon exchange on de Broglie waves: the modulation effect is weak at low velocities, becomes significant at high velocities, and the key wave parameters (frequency, momentum correlation) of de Broglie waves and virtual photons achieve quantitative unification as the particle velocity approaches the speed of light. This theory establishes a rigorous, quantitative, and unified relation between the virtual photon exchange mechanism and the origin of de Broglie waves, improves the physical interpretation of matter wave origin, and provides a new theoretical perspective for the study of wave-particle duality and electromagnetic interaction of microscopic particles.
The electromagnetic component waves, comprising together with their generating oscillatory massless charge a material particle, will be Doppler shifted when the charge hence particle is in motion, with a velocity v, as a mere mechanical consequence of the source motion. We illustrate here that two such component waves generated in opposite directions and propagating at speed c between walls in a one-dimensional box, superpose into a traveling beat wave of wavelength ${\mitΛ}_d$$=(\frac{v}{c}){\mitΛ}$ and phase velocity c2/v+v which resembles directly L. de Broglie's hypothetic phase wave. This phase wave in terms of transporting the particle mass at the speed v and angular frequency ${\mitΩ}_d=2πv /{\mitΛ}_d$, with ${\mitΛ}_d$ and ${\mitΩ}_d$ obeying the de Broglie relations, represents a de Broglie wave. The standing-wave function of the de Broglie (phase) wave and its variables for particle dynamics in small geometries are equivalent to the eigen-state solutions to Schrödinger equation of an identical system.
Abstract We present a unified field theory of wave and particle in quantum mechanics. This emerges from an investigation of three weaknesses in the de Broglie–Bohm theory: its reliance on the quantum probability formula to justify the particle-guidance equation; its insouciance regarding the absence of reciprocal action of the particle on the guiding wavefunction; and its lack of a unified model to represent its inseparable components. Following the author’s previous work, these problems are examined within an analytical framework by requiring that the wave–particle composite exhibits no observable differences with a quantum system. This scheme is implemented by appealing to symmetries (global gauge and spacetime translations) and imposing equality of the corresponding conserved Noether densities (matter, energy, and momentum) with their Schrödinger counterparts. In conjunction with the condition of time-reversal covariance, this implies the de Broglie–Bohm law for the particle where the quantum potential mediates the wave–particle interaction (we also show how the time-reversal assumption may be replaced by a statistical condition). The method clarifies the nature of the composite’s mass, and its energy and momentum conservation laws. Our principal result is the unification of the Schrödinger equation and the de Broglie–Bohm law in a single inhomogeneous equation whose solution amalgamates the wavefunction and a singular soliton model of the particle in a unified spacetime field. The wavefunction suffers no reaction from the particle since it is the homogeneous part of the unified field to whose source the particle contributes via the quantum potential. The theory is extended to many-body systems. We review de Broglie’s objections to the pilot-wave theory and suggest that our field-theoretic description provides a realization of his hitherto unfulfilled ‘double solution’ programme. A revised set of postulates for the de Broglie–Bohm theory is proposed in which the unified field is taken as the basic descriptive element of a physical system.
