Solution of the Master Equation for an Attenuated or Amplified Nonlinear Oscillator with an Arbitrary Initial Condition

Abstract

Using the thermo-field dynamics notation, an elegant solution of the master equation for an attenuated or amplified nonlinear oscillator is presented. It is found that, in this notation, the solution of the master equation under consideration amounts to a simple modification of that for the linear oscillator.

Huai-Xin Lu, Zeng‐Bing Chen, YONG-DE ZHANG

Using the decomposition theorm of superoperators, an explicit solution of the master equation for an attenuated or amplified nonlinear oscillator is presented. It is found that the time evolution of the density operator can be easily obtained from an arbitary initial state using this method.

Destruction of quantum coherence in a nonlinear oscillator via attenuation and amplification

D. J. Daniel, Gerard J Milburn

The exact solution to the master equation of a nonlinear oscillator, subject to damping or amplification, is presented. The effect of such incoherent processes on the quantum-coherence properties and recurrences is obtained. It is shown that amplification destroys quantum coherence more rapidly than does attenuation.

Third-order Nonlinear Dissipative Oscillator with Initial Gaussian Pure and Mixed States

Vlasta Peřinová, A. Lukš, M. Kárská

A two-fold generalization of results concerning the third-order nonlinear dissipative oscillator is presented. The exact solution to the master equation for an arbitrary initial state is given, and closed formulae for the squeeze variances in the case of initial Gaussian pure and mixed states are derived.
