Scalable Cavity Quantum Electrodynamics System for Quantum Computing

Mohammad Hasan Aram, Sina Khorasani

We introduce a new scalable cavity quantum electrodynamics platform which can be used for quantum computing. This system is composed of coupled photonic crystal (PC) cavities which their modes lie on a Dirac cone in the whole super crystal band structure. Quantum information is stored in quantum dots that are positioned inside the cavities. We show if there is just one quantum dot in the system, energy as photon is exchanged between the quantum dot and the Dirac modes sinusoidally. Meanwhile the quantum dot becomes entangled with Dirac modes. If we insert more quantum dots into the system, they also become entangled with each other.

Emission of Polarization-Entangled Microwave Photons from a Pair of Quantum Dots

Clive Emary, Björn Trauzettel, C. W. J. Beenakker

We describe a mechanism for the production of polarization-entangled microwaves using intraband transitions in a pair of quantum dots. This proposal relies neither on spin-orbit coupling nor on control over electron-electron interactions. The quantum correlation of microwave polarizations is obtained from orbital degrees of freedom in an external magnetic field. We calculate the concurrence of emitted microwave photon pairs and show that a maximally entangled Bell pair is obtained in the limit of weak interdot coupling.

Optically Generated 2-Dimensional Photonic Cluster State from Coupled Quantum Dots

Sophia E. Economou, Netanel H. Lindner, Terry Rudolph

We propose a method to generate a two-dimensional cluster state of polarization encoded photonic qubits from two coupled quantum dot emitters. We combine the proposal for generating one-dimensional cluster state strings from a single dot, with a new proposal for an induced conditional phase gate between the two quantum dots. The entanglement between the two dots translates to entanglement between the two photonic cluster state strings. Further interpair coupling of the quantum dots using cavities and waveguides can lead to a two-dimensional cluster sheet, the importance of which stems from the fact that it is a universal resource for quantum computation. Analysis of errors indicates that our proposal is feasible with current technology. Crucially, the emitted photons need not have identical frequencies, and so there are no constraints on the resonance energies for the quantum dots.
