Controlling Entropic Uncertainty in the Presence of Quantum Memory by Non-Markovian Effects and Atom-Cavity Couplings

Hong‐Mei Zou, Mao-Fa Fang

Based on the time-convolutionless master-equation approach, the entropic uncertainty in the presence of quantum memory is investigated for a two-atom system in two dissipative cavities. We find that the entropic uncertainty can be controlled by the non-Markovian effect and the atom-cavity coupling. The results show that increasing the atom-cavity coupling can enlarge the oscillating frequencies of the entropic uncertainty and can decrease the minimal value of the entropic uncertainty. Enhancing the non-Markovian effect can reduce the minimal value of the entropic uncertainty. In particular, if the atom-cavity coupling or the non-Markovian effect is very strong, the entropic uncertainty will be very close to zero at certain time points, thus Bob can minimize his uncertainty about Alice's measurement outcomes.

The quantum entropic uncertainty relation and entanglement witness in the two-atom system coupling with the non-Markovian environments

Hong-Mei Zou, Mao-Fa Fang, Bai-Yuan Yang +3 more

The quantum entropic uncertainty relation and entanglement witness in the two-atom system coupling with the non-Markovian environments are studied by the time-convolutionless master-equation approach. The influence of non-Markovian effect and detuning on the lower bound of the quantum entropic uncertainty relation and entanglement witness is discussed in detail. The results show that, only if the two non-Markovian reservoirs are identical, increasing detuning and non-Markovian effect can reduce the lower bound of the entropic uncertainty relation, lengthen the time region during which the entanglement can be witnessed, and effectively protect the entanglement region witnessed by the lower bound of the entropic uncertainty relation. The results can be applied in quantum measurement, quantum cryptography task and quantum information processing.

The entropic uncertainty preservation in non-Markovian environment via classical driving fields

H. Hajihoseinlou, Bahram Ahansaz

Abstract Uncertainty relations in terms of entropies were initially proposed to deal with conceptual shortcomings in the original formulation of the uncertainty principle and, hence, play an important role in quantum foundations. In quantum information theory, the preferred mathematical quantity to express the entropic uncertainty relation is the Shannon’s entropy. In this work, we investigate the effect of a classical driving field on entropic uncertainty lower bound (EULB). In this regard, we consider a particle as the quantum memory correlated with a measured particle, where during the interaction with the environment, the quantum memory is driven by the external classical field. Our result reveals that in the presence of the classical driving fields, the EULB is reduced and consequently, the measurement accuracy is increased.
