A pair of Lax operators which gives a set of fundamental equations in the quantum inverse scattering method is explicitly presented for the one-dimensional Hubbard model. This provides a direct proof that the model is a completely integrable system.

BoundaryK-supermatrices for the one-dimensional small-polaron open chain

The Lax pair for the one-dimensional small-polaron open chain is explicitly constructed. From this the general boundary K-supermatrices are found. Our construction provides a direct demonstration for the integrability of the system.

Lax pair formulation for a small-polaron chain with integrable boundaries

Xi-Wen Guan, Uwe Grimm, Rudolf A. Römer

Using a fermionic version of the Lax pair formulation, we construct an integrable small-polaron model with general open boundary conditions. The Lax pair and the boundary supermatrices K± for the model are obtained. This provides a direct proof of the integrability of the model.
