Abstract

Recent attempts to consider isolated particles and real constitutive wave elements as localized, extended spacetime structures (i.e., moving within time‐like hypertubes or branes are developed within a causal extension of the Feynman‐Gell‐Mann electron model. These extended structures contain real internal motions, (i.e., internal hidden parameters) locally correlated with the “hidden parameters” describing the local collective motions of the corresponding pilot‐waves. Recent experimental evidence is briefly discussed.

From Classical to Wave-Mechanical Dynamics

A. Orefice, Raffaele Giovanelli, Domenico Ditto

The time-independent Schroedinger and Klein-Gordon equations - as well as any other Helmholtz-like equation - were recently shown to be associated with exact sets of ray-trajectories (coupled by a "Wave Potential" function encoded in their structure itself) describing any kind of wave-like features, such as diffraction and interference. This property suggests to view Wave Mechanics as a direct, causal and realistic, extension of Classical Mechanics, based on exact trajectories and motion laws of point-like particles "piloted" by de Broglie's matter waves and avoiding the probabilistic content and the wave-packets both of the standard Copenhagen interpretation and of Bohm's theory.

Spacetime Structures in a Causal Model of Quantum Theory

Hans H. Diel

The enterprise to construct a local causal model of quantum theory (QT), including quantum field theory (QFT), resulted in the identification of "quantum objects" as the elementary units of causality and locality.Quantum objects are collections of particles (including single particles) whose collective dynamics and measurement results can only be described by the laws of QT/ QFT.Quantum objects run autonomously with system state update frequency based on their local proper time and with no or minimal dependency on external parameters. The autonomy of quantum objects necessitates well-defined causal interrelationships between quantum objects and spacetime: 1) Quantum objects are embedded in space and move within space.2) In the proposed causal model, the dynamics of space is triggered by the dynamics of the quantum objects. The causal model of QT/QFT assumes discretized spacetime similar to the spacetime of causal dynamical triangulation.

Quantum operational measurement of amplitude and phase parameters for SU(3) symmetry optical fields

A. P. Alodjants, A. Yu. Leksin, Sergei M Arakelyan

We consider a new approach for describing a quantum optical Bose system with internal Gell-Mann symmetry by means of the SU (3) symmetry polarization map in Hilbert space. The operational measurement of the density (or coherency) matrix elements for the three-mode optical field is discussed for the first time. We have introduced a set of operators that describe the quantum measurement procedure and the behaviour of fluctuations for the amplitude and phase characteristics of the three-level system. A novel twelve-port interferometer for making parallel measurements of the Gell-Mann parameters is proposed. The quantum properties of qutrit W-states in the measurement procedure are examined.

On a hidden dynamical SU(3)-symmetry in parasupersymmetric quantum mechanics

J. Beckers, N. Debergh, A. G. Nikitin

The superposition of bosons and p=2-parafermions has led to the so-called parasupersymmetric quantum mechanics. The authors show that the structures subtending these developments contain a hidden dynamical SU(3)-symmetry effectively associated with the fundamental irreducible representation 3 (unitarily equivalent to the Gell-Mann one). The representation 3* is also visited. The generalization to arbitrary orders p of paraquantization is briefly discussed.

On locality, correlation and hidden variables

D E Liddy

Locality conditions for hidden-variables descriptions of the Bohm-EPR thought experiment are shown to be unnecessary as the underlying structure is already local. An objective, local hidden-variables theory is given.
