Mean-field renormalisation group for the Potts model in a transverse field

Abstract

The mean-field renormalisation group method is used to study the bond-diluted q-states Potts model in a transverse field. The critical surface in the transverse field-temperature-concentration space is obtained for different dimensionalities, and some critical exponents are estimated.

Mean field renormalisation group for the disordered transverse Ising model

J. A. Plascak

The mean field renormalisation group approach is applied to the bond diluted transverse Ising model. The critical surface in the temperature-transverse field-concentration space is obtained for the two- and three-dimensional models and estimates of critical exponents are also presented.

Zero-temperature renormalisation group study of the random systems: the Ising model in a transverse field in two dimensions

G. Kamieniarz

A zero-temperature real space renormalisation group block method is applied to the random quantum Ising model with a transverse field on the planar honeycomb and square lattices. For the bound diluted system the magnetisation and the separation of the ground-state energy level (in the paramagnetic phase) are presented for several bond concentrations p. The critical exponents extracted both from the fixed points and from direct numerical computations preserve some scaling relations, and the critical curve displays a characteristic discontinuity at the percolation concentration. For the McCoy and Wu distribution (1968) the random fields and bonds are found to introduce a strong relevant disorder. The order parameter still falls off continuously to zero for well defined values of the parameters but a new fixed point yields a slight change in the critical exponents.

Quantum spin systems: dynamical mean field renormalisation group approach

J. A. Plascak

The mean field renormalisation group approach is applied to the study of the static and dynamical critical properties of the spin- 1 / 2 anisotropic Heisenberg model in a transverse field. The critical surface and estimates of static and dynamical critical exponents are obtained for the one-, two-, and three-dimensional models.

Three-state Potts model with antiferromagnetic interactions: a MFRG approach

M C Marques

The mean-field renormalisation group method is used to study the critical temperature of the three-state Potts antiferromagnet in 3D lattices, as well as the three-state Potts model on the square lattice with ferromagnetic (along x) and antiferromagnetic (along y) interactions, and its quantum version, the 1D Potts antiferromagnet in a transverse field. Comparison is made with other results.

Mean-field renormalisation group study of antiferromagnetic q-state Potts models

M C Marques

The MFRG method is used to study the critical behaviour of the q-state Potts antiferromagnet in three dimensions. The q dependence of the critical temperature T c as well as the exponent v are derived, and the results are compared with Monte Carlo data and predictions of mean-field theory.

2D pure and dilute quantum transverse Ising model

G. Kamieniarz

The quantum critical behaviour of the transverse Ising model on a planar lattice at zero temperature is shown, within approximate block renormalisation-group transformations, to be unaffected by the bond dilution. The critical exponents and the critical fields are calculated for both pure and dilute systems.
