Abstract

An experiment to verify the phase in noncyclic SU(2) spatial evolution of split-beam interferometry using spin-polarized neutrons is proposed.Received 5 May 2000DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevA.63.035602©2001 American Physical Society

Neutron Interferometric Observation of Noncyclic Phase

Using polarized neutrons, we have determined phases as well as interference amplitudes for noncyclic spinor evolutions in static magnetic fields. Both these quantities depend on the angle subtended by the neutron spin with the field. This experiment elucidates the subtle, and widely misunderstood, concepts involved.

Noncyclic mixed state phase in SU(2) polarimetry

Larsson, P, Sjöqvist, E

We demonstrate that Pancharatnam's relative phase for mixed spin$-{1/2}$ states in noncyclic SU(2) evolution can be measured polarimetrically.

Hamiltonians for the photon-number-phase amplifiers

Giacomo Mauro D’Ariano

Hamiltonians attaining number-phase amplification are presented. The amplification is driven by a peculiar dependence of the polarization on the phase of the field in a limited frequency range.Received 20 May 1991DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevA.45.3224©1992 American Physical Society
