A Monte Carlo study on the spin dynamics of the 2D+or-J Ising spin glass model

Koji Hukushima, K Nemoto

The authors examine the dynamical properties of the 2D+or-J Edwards-Anderson Ising spin glass in the anomalous phase which corresponds to the Griffiths phase in the diluted ferromagnetic system. By using Monte Carlo simulation they find that the autocorrelation function can be described as a function of a power of scaled time. This new scaling includes both the stretched exponential law for the intermediate stage and the logarithmic law for the early stage of relaxation. The relaxation time obtained from the scaling is found to diverge exponentially with exponent proportional to T -2 .

Remanent magnetization of the infinite-range Ising spin glass

Wolfgang Kinzel

The remanent magnetization ${M}_{r}$ and the excess energy \ensuremath{\Delta}E are studied for the Sherrington-Kirpatrick model of spin glasses using Monte Carlo simulations. At zero temperature T the system relaxes to a stationary nonequilibrium state with nonzero ${M}_{r}$ and \ensuremath{\Delta}E; both quantities are self-averaging. For 0${T}_{c}$ the simulations indicate that ${M}_{r}$ and \ensuremath{\Delta}E decay to zero as a power law in time.

Study of the de Almeida–Thouless Line Using Power-Law Diluted One-Dimensional Ising Spin Glasses

Helmut G. Katzgraber, Derek Larson, A. P. Young

We test for the existence of a spin-glass phase transition, the de Almeida-Thouless line, in an externally applied (random) magnetic field by performing Monte Carlo simulations on a power-law diluted one-dimensional Ising spin glass for very large system sizes. We find that a de Almeida-Thouless line occurs only in the mean-field regime, which corresponds, for a short-range spin glass, to dimension d larger than 6.
