Abstract

In this article we study the effect of the Kerr-like medium on a system consisting of two-level atom and two fields injected simultaneously within perfect cavity. We assume that in the presence of the nonlinear Kerr coupler, the atom interacts with each field separately. The present system can be regarded as a co-directional nonlinear coupler composed of two Kerr nonlinear waveguides, where the atom–field interaction plays the role of the energy exchange between the waveguides. The system includes two effective different coupling parameters λ 1 and λ 2 , such that each coupling connects the atom with one of the field mode. Moreover, it includes two different susceptibility factors, one represents self-coupling while the other is responsible for cross-action processes. Under certain conditions, the exact solution of the wavefunction in the Schrödinger picture is obtained and the Husimi quasidistribution is derived. A consideration of some physical phenomena, such as collapses and revivals is given, and the degree of entanglement is also discussed. The system is found to be sensitive to the variation of both mean photon numbers as well as to the Kerr-like medium.

A study of a nonlinear interaction between a two-mode cavity field and ♢-type four-level with field damping

A.‐S. F. Obada, M. M. A. Ahmed, A. A. Eied +2 more

In this paper, the effects of the field damping and Kerr-like medium on a system of a four-level atom in the [Formula: see text]-type interacting nonlinearly with a two-mode field are studied. Analytical solution of the system of differential equations resulting from the Schrödinger equation is obtained. The effects of detuning parameters, Kerr-like parameter, coupling function and damping rate are discussed for atomic population inversion, the second-order correlation function, Shannon information entropy, and linear entropy. Under justifiable all conditions, extreme entanglement states may appear periodically with the evolution of time. The arrival of the quantum system to a pure state can be controlled by variations of the Kerr medium and the damping parameters. The results also exhibit that the periods of strong and weak entanglement between the parts of the system are achieved during the periods of collapses and revivals of the atomic population inversion. Moreover, the photon distribution changes from non-classical to classical by increasing the damping rate.

Entanglement for a Bimodal Cavity Field Interacting with a Two-Level Atom

Liu Jia, Chen Zi-Yu, Bu Shen-Ping +1 more

Negativity has been adopted to investigate the entanglement in a system composed of a two-level atom and a two-mode cavity field. Effects of Kerr-like medium and the number of photon inside the cavity on the entanglement are studied. Our results show that atomic initial state must be superposed, so that the two cavity field modes can be entangled. Moreover, we also conclude that the number of photon in the two cavity mode should be equal. The interaction between modes, namely, the Kerr effect, has a significant negative contribution. Note that the atom frequency and the cavity frequency have an indistinguishable effect, so a corresponding approximation has been made in this article. These results may be useful for quantum information in optics systems.

Evolution of Atomic Population in System of Two-mode Entangled Coherent Field Interacting with Atoms in Bell States in Kerr Medium

Zhuo‐Liang Cao

The time evolution of atomic population of the system, where the two identical two-level atoms in Bell states interact with two-mode entangled coherent field in a cavity filled with the Kerr medium, was investigated by means of quantum theory and numerical method. The effects of the atomic initial state, mean photon numbers of field, the degree of the entanglement for the entangled coherent field, and the coupling strength between the Kerr medium and field on the atom’s population are discussed via numerical calculations. The results show that the atomic population is time-independent provided that the atoms are in β11〉 state. For the other three Bell states, there will appear the periodical collapse-revival of atomic population if the initial mean photon number reaches some special values. With the increase of the initial mean photon number, the oscillation frequency of the time-evolution of atomic population increases correspondingly, and the amplitude decreases. The degree of the entanglement of the two-mode entangled coherent field has no effect on the frequency of the Rabi oscillation, but has an obvious effect on the amplitude of Rabi oscillation. When the coupling strength between the Kerr medium and field reaches some special values, it has the obvious effects on the cycle of collapse-revival of atomic population, the frequency and the amplitude of Rabi oscillation.

Dynamics of atom-field interaction inside a nonlinear Kerr-like medium filled optical cavity

Naveen Kumar, Arpita Chatterjee

In this paper, we investigate the dynamics of two two-level atoms interacting with a two-mode field inside an optical cavity, in presence of a nonlinear Kerr-like medium as well as the Stark shift. We derive the exact analytical solution of the time-dependent Schrödinger equation that provides a comprehensive framework for analyzing the system's quantum properties. To characterize the nonclassical features of the radiation field, we examine photon number distribution, second-order correlation function 𝑔2⁡(0), squeezing properties, and Mandel's 𝑄𝑀 parameter. These properties reveal significant insights into the quantum statistical behaviour of the field and its deviation from classicality under different interaction regimes. In addition, we quantify the atom-atom entanglement using linear entropy which captures the mixedness of the atomic subsystem and elucidates the interplay between atom-atom interactions. The results highlight the crucial role of nonlinear interactions and the Stark shift in shaping the quantum correlations and nonclassical phenomena of the system.

Dynamical properties of quantum Fisher information of a two-level atoms interacting with two-mode superposition coherent state

Haifa S. Alqannas, Eied Mahmoud Khalil, S. Abdel‐Khalek

A quantum cavity filled with a nonlinear medium (Kerr like medium) and contains a 2-mode field interacting with time dependence of 2-qubit is investigated. Part of the two qubits interact in the form of an amplifier, while the other is in the form of a ladder. The constants of motion are calculated by using the Heisenberg differential equation. Moreover, the analytical solution is calculated by solving the Schrodinger differential equations. Some statistical quantities are calculated to identify the features of the proposed model. The effective of the nonlinear term on the phenomena of collapse and revival are discussed through atomic population. The amount of entanglement between the quantum subsystem, whether it is between the 2-qubit and the cavity field, or between the 2-qubit together are calculated using the linear entropy and the concurrence. The results indicated that there is a superstructure between the atomic population and the linear entropy, concurrence. The intensity of oscillations decreases for the entanglement between the field and the two qubits when the Kerr like medium of the Hamiltonian system is included. The nonclassical distribution of the quantum system decreases after taking Kerr like medium into account.

A double Λ-five-level moving atom interacting with a two-mode field in the presence of damping and nonlinear Kerr medium

Ahmed Salah, Lamia E. Thabet, Tarek M. El-Shahat +2 more

In this paper, we present the interaction between a five-level [Formula: see text]-configuration atom and a two-mode quantized field in the presence of the damping with the nonlinearity. According to the generalized nonlinear Jaynes–Cummings model (JCM) and the analytical solution of the Schrödinger equation, the general formula of the wave function for this system under special conditions, where the atom (the field) is initially prepared in the excited state (coherent state), has been found. Under some particular conditions, the five-level [Formula: see text]-type atom can be reduced to the three-level [Formula: see text]-type atom. Some physical aspects of the atom-field entangled state showing the entanglement degree, such as the field entropy. Moreover, we evaluate some of their non-classical statistical aspects such as atomic inversion. The effects of the physical parameters such as a Kerr medium, detuning parameter and the intensity-dependent coupling on the temporal behavior of the latter mentioned non-classical statistical aspects have been explored. We show that by choosing the evolved parameters in the interaction process, each of the above non-classical statistical features can be treated. We found that the parameters have an important influence on the properties of these phenomena.
