Discovery of the Induced Superslow Optical Relaxation Processes in I 2

Hongjie Jiang, Yong Zhang, Jiahua Zhu +3 more

We discover superslow optical processes with relaxation time as long as 250 ms in I 2 . The demonstration is performed by a series of experiments with novel considerations for I 2 interacting with phase modulated laser fields, monitored by both coherent and noncoherent detection with digital frequency scale and time scale simultaneously for comparison.

Noncoherent four-photon parametric processes

Yu E D'yakov, Lubomir I. Pavlov, I. V. Tomov

An analysis is made of the excitation of a four-photon parametric process by a noncoherent Gaussian (noise) pump field. An allowance is made for the dispersive and dissipative properties of the nonlinear medium. It is shown that this process may have a fairly high efficiency in vapors of Cd, Hg, and Zn metal atoms if rare gas fluoride excimer laseres are used as pump sources.

Verifying model for statistical hypothesis in detection of noncoherent radiation

Vasile D. Babin, Simion Ersen, Adrian Moldovan +1 more

A mode of quantic detection for noncoherent optical radiation as noise limit is presented. Using the representation on coherent state of density matrix operators ((rho) ) and of detection operators ((pi) ), the detection probability (Qd), false alarm probability (Qo) and signal-noise ratio (S/Z), are estimated, as function of the number of freedom degrees of temporal oscillation modes (Mt) and of the spatial oscillation modes (Ms). A validation algorithm of statistical hypotheses, resulted from noncoherent optical field analysis, is made using Newman-Pearson criterion.
