Abstract

Squeezing of one mode field interacting with a three-level cascade atom are studied by the Schrodinger equation, using the Jaynes-Cummings (J-C) model depending or not depending on the coupling of field strength. Deepest squeezing of field, 0.138 or 0.133 and some interesting consequences are obtained in the multiphoton process.

Interaction of a three-level atom with squeezed light

Reeta Vyas, Surendra Singh

Dynamics of a three-level atom interacting with one- and two-mode radiation fields is studied when the initial state of the field is a squeezed coherent state. All the three types of level configurations cascade; V and Lambda are considered. A model similar to the Jaynes-Cumming type developed by Yoo and Eberly1 is used. Various parameter ranges including the one in which the photon number distribution for the squeezed state exhibits oscillatory behavior2 are considered. Interesting revival structures are seen. Curves are presented to illustrate the behavior.

Multiphoton model for the interaction of single-mode squeezed-state light with a two-level atom

Shaozheng Jin

Multiphoton interaction of single-mode squeezed-state light and a two-level atom is considered based on the K-photon Jaynes–Cummings model. Time evolution of quantum fluctuation and photon statistical properties of the initial squeezing light are discussed. It is found that through interaction with a two-level atom, larger squeezing levels cannot be achieved in one-photon or multiphoton processes. For photon antibunching behavior of the light field, it is shown that a smaller initial squeezing level and an appropriately larger coherent part of the initial average photon number of the radiation field favor the generation of this nonclassical behavior, especially in the lower-order interaction processes.

Fourth-order squeezing in the multiphoton Jaynes-Cummings model

Fam Le Kien, M. Kozierowski, Tran Quang

Hong and Mandel's concept of higher-order squeezing [Phys. Rev. Lett. 54, 323 (1985); Phys. Rev. A 32, 974 (1985)] is applied to the generalized multiphoton Jaynes-Cummings model of a single two-level atom interacting with an initially coherent cavity-field mode. The fourth-order squeezing is examined. The field is shown to be intrinsically squeezed to this order for the photon multiple m\ensuremath{\ge}4.

SQUEEZING PHENOMENON IN THE CASCADE TWO-PHOTON PROCESS

Xiao-shen Li, Zhengdong Liu, GONG CHANG-DE +1 more

The Schrodinger's equation method is used to investigate the squeezing phenomenon of the electromagnetic field in the case of a three-level cascade atom interacting with single-mode cavity field. The effects of the stimulating strength and the coupling constants on the squeezing phenomenon are discussed. Furthermore, the roles played by the saturation effect and the two-photon process, and the relation between the 1st order coherence and the squeezing effects of the field are revealed.

Light squeezing it two-atom Jaynes - Cummings model with intensity-dependent atom-field coupling

Eugene K. Bashkirov, Башкиров Е. К

The features of light squeezing for two two-level atom interacting with a coherent field in finite-Q cavity taking into account dependence of atom-field coupling from intensity of a field are explored. The computer modeling of the squeezing parameter revealed that the maximum degree of squeezing for considered model considerably surpasses corresponding quantity for one-photon case.

Entropy squeezing of a two-mode multiphoton Jaynes-Cummings model in the presence of a nonlinear medium

Mahmoud Abdel‐Aty, M. Sebawe Abdalla, A.‐S. F. Obada

From a quantum information point of view we study the entropy squeezing of a two-level atom interacting with two modes with intensity-dependent coupling. The Hamiltonian we consider consists of all acceptable forms of nonlinearities. A definition of squeezing is presented for this system, based on information theory. The utility of the definition is illustrated by examining squeezing in the information entropy of a two-level atom in the presence of a nonlinear medium. We examine the influence of the nonlinear interaction, the atomic coherence and the detuning parameter on the properties of the entropy and squeezing of the atomic variables. It is shown that features of the quantum entropy are influenced significantly by the kinds of intensity-dependent atom-field coupling and the nonlinearities of the two-mode fields.
