Exactly Solvable SU(M) Spin Chain with Long-Range Interactions*

Hirohito Kiwata, Yasuhiro Akutsu

We present an exactly solvable quantum SU( M ) ( M : arbitrary integer ≥2) spin chain with long-range ( ∼ inverse-square) interactions. The model generalizes the so-called Haldane-Shastry system which corresponds to M =2. We find the Lax pair for the system which guarantees the integrability of the system. An exact many-body ground-state wave function with particular symmetry is explicitly constructed.

Exact Results for Spin and Charge Dynamics of Electrons with Supersymmetry

Y. KURAMOTO

Excitation spectra in the SU($ν+1$,1) supersymmetric t-J model with long-range exchange and transfer has quadratic dependence on spin and charge currents for all energies. After brief review on the supersymmetry, this paper gives a simple explanation for the spin-charge separation on the basis of a first-quantized representation. A useful identity is derived on permutation properties of SU($ν$) Jastrow-type wave functions, which constitute the ground states for a class of 1/$r^2$ interaction models.

Exact ground state of an openS=1/2 long-range Heisenberg antiferromagnetic spin chain

Benjamin D. Simons, B. L. Altshuler

We find the exact ground-state wave function of an open S=1/2 spin chain with exchange that scales in inverse proportion to the square of the sum and the difference of the coordinates of the spins. For isotropic exchange interaction, numerical study reveals that in common with the periodic manifestation of the spin model, the states are grouped into highly degenerate multiplets.
