Abstract

The invariants for a mesoscopic RLC circuit with a power source are studied and used to construct the squeezed states and squeezed number states for the system. The quantum fluctuations of the mesoscopic RLC circuit in the squeezed states and squeezed number states are also investigated.

Exact Wave Function and Squeezed States of a Mesoscopic RLC Circuit

YU You-hong

The exact wave function and basic invariants for a mesoscopic RLC circuit are obtained via a sequence of unitary transformations. It is shown that the eigenstates of the basic invariant are just the squeezed states which can be constructed by using the exact wave function of the system.

Quantum Fluctuations of a Mesoscopic RLC Circuit in a Displaced Squeezed Fock State

Xiaoguang Wang, Shaohua Pan

Starting from the equation of motion for a circuit including resistor, inductor and capacitor (RLC), we study the quantum fluctuations of charge and magnetic flux of a mesoscopic RLC circuit in a displaced squeezed Fock state. It is found that the fluctuations of charge and magnetic flux do not depend on the displacement parameter and there exist squeezing effects between them. We also show how to generate the displaced squeezed Fock state in the RLC circuit.

Quantum Description of a Mesoscopic RLC Circuit

I. A. Pedrosa, Anderson Pereira Pinheiro

We present a quantum description of a mesoscopic RLC circuit. Based on the Caldirola-Kanai Hamiltonian and quantum invariant method we solve the Schrödinger equation for this circuit and write the corresponding wave functions in terms of a particular solution of the Milne-Pinney equation. In addition, we construct coherent and squeezed states for the quantized RLC circuit and evaluate the quantum fluctuations of the charge and the magnetic flux as well as the uncertainty product.
