On the Ground State of the Spin Dependent BGD Model

Abstract

The ground state of the spin dependent BGD model in a one-dimensional Fermi gas is studied in the strong coupling region by using the phase Hamiltonian based on the Boson method. The result qualitatively consistent with that by the renormalization group (RG) method without the Bosonization is obtained.

Scaling Properties of One Dimensional Fermi Gas with Spin-Dependent Forward Scattering

T. Sugiyama

In a one dimensional Fermi gas, the scaling properties of the model in which g2// is separated from g2⊥ are investigated. The Lie equations for the BGD model (that consists of backward and forward scatterings) are considered in the four independent invariant couplings, g1//*, g1⊥*, g2//* and g2⊥*, and the scaling trajectory is given in (g1//, |g1⊥|) plane. Further a phase diagram at 0K is investigated. Also a model with the Umklapp processes is considered.

Ground State Phase Diagram of an Extended Hubbard Chain with Spin-Dependent Interaction

Er-Yin Lin, Hanqin Ding, Jun Zhang

A half-filled one-dimensional (1D) extended Hubbard model (U-V_⊥-V_∥) with on-site and nearest-neighbor spin-dependent interactions is studied analytically. The ground state phase diagram is obtained in the weak-coupling regime by performing the bosonization and renormalization group methods. The result shows that the nearest-neighbor spin-dependent attraction influences the low-energy physics of the 1D correlated electron system, and changes the topological structure of the ground state phase diagram of the U-V model.

Phase diagram of the one-dimensional Hubbard model with next-nearest-neighbor hopping

Satoshi Nishimoto, Kazuhiro Sano, Y. Ohta

We study the one-dimensional Hubbard model with nearest-neighbor and next-nearest-neighbor hopping integrals by using the density-matrix renormalization group method and Hartree-Fock approximation. Based on the calculated results for the spin gap, total-spin quantum number, and Tomonaga-Luttinger-liquid parameter, we determine the ground-state phase diagram of the model in the entire filling and wide parameter region. We show that, in contrast to the weak-coupling regime where a spin-gapped liquid phase is predicted in the region with four Fermi points, the spin gap vanishes in a substantial region in the strong-coupling regime. It is remarkable that a large variety of phases, such as the paramagnetic metallic phase, spin-gapped liquid phase, singlet and triplet superconducting phases, and fully polarized ferromagnetic phase, appear in such a simple model in the strong-coupling regime.

Weak-coupling Ground State Phase Diagram of the One-dimensional Extended Hubbard Model

Haiming Duan

By using the bosonization approach and renormalization group analysis,we study the ground state phase diagram of one-dimensional extended Hubbard model at half-filling in the regime where U and V are both positive but less than t, finding that the system shows three distinct ground states characterized by the spin-density-wave,the charge-density-wave and the bond-charge-density-wave,respectively.These results demonstrate that the ground state phases of the extended Hubbard model are not identical with those of the conventional Hubbard model.

Quantum phases of a one-dimensional dipolar Fermi gas

Hamid Mosadeq, Reza Asgari

We quantitatively obtain the quantum ground-state phases of a Fermi system with on-site and dipole-dipole interactions in one-dimensional lattice chains within the density matrix renormalization group. We show, at a given spin polarization, the existence of six phases in the phase diagram and find that the phases are highly dependent on the spin degree of freedom. These phases can be constructed using available experimental techniques.

Band-filling and magnetic-field effects on the phase diagram of one-dimensional conductors

Gilles Montambaux, M. Héritier, Pascal Lederer

We investigate the Fermi gas model for one-dimensional (1D) conductors as a function of chemical potential and of the applied magnetic field. The bosonization method allows to prove the equivalence between these parameters, the first acting on charge degrees of freedom, the second on spin degrees of freedom. A number of results available in the literature can thus be connected. We also use the mapping to the 2D classical Coulomb gas and a two-cutoff renormalization-group method, the two energy scales being the bandwidth and the Zeeman energy (or the chemical potential). We obtain a coherent description of the Fermi gas phase diagram as a function of these two ``fields.''
