THE ANNEALED MANY-BONDS ISING MODEL

Abstract

The random bond problem with many kinds of bonds for Ising lattice is studied. The transformation was found from the Ising model with many kinds of bonds to the Ising problem with one effective bond. The method of transformation is illustrated on the 2D square lattice with ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic interactions.

An estimation of the boundary between the ferromagnetic and non-ferromagnetic phases in the random-bond Ising model

T. Morita

The boundary between the ferromagnetic and non-ferromagnetic phases is estimated by extrapolating the properties of finite systems, for the random-bond Ising model of the nearest-neighbour exchange integrals J>0 and -J with respective probabilities p and 1-p, on the square lattice.

Ising Model with Even-Bonds Plaquettes on the Square Lattice

Tsuyoshi Horiguchi

We propose an exactly soluble Ising model with two kinds of exchange integrals on a square lattice. We assume that the number of bonds on which the exchange integrals take a value is even around each elementary plaquette; we name such a plaquette an even-bonds plaquette. We find two phase transition temperatures in the Ising model. We have a magnetic phase transition at one of them and a phase transition relating to the ordering of a dual spins introduced by a dual transformation of bond variables at the other. The latter phase transition is investigated in detail and turned out to have a relation with the confinement of odd-bonds plaquettes in a generalized system. Both phase transitions are of Onsager type.

Random site-bond diluted system in the Ising model

Zhen‐Ya Li, Chuan‐Zhang Yang

In this paper, a random site-bond diluted Ising system on the square lattice is studied by the use of annealed model solutions of the corresponding decoration problem. The critical temperature and magnetization as functions of site and bond concentrations are calculated.

Two-dimensional random-bond Ising model, free fermions, and the network model

Florian Merz, J. T. Chalker

We develop a recently proposed mapping of the two-dimensional Ising model with random exchange (RBIM) via the transfer matrix, to a network model for a disordered system of noninteracting fermions. The RBIM transforms in this way to a localization problem belonging to one of a set of nonstandard symmetry classes, known as class D; the transition between paramagnet and ferromagnet is equivalent to a delocalization transition between an insulator and a quantum Hall conductor. We establish the mapping as an exact and efficient tool for numerical analysis: using it, the computational effort required to study a system of width M is proportional to ${M}^{3},$ and not exponential in M as with conventional algorithms. We show how the approach may be used to calculate for the RBIM the free energy, typical correlation lengths in quasi-one dimension for both the spin and the disorder operators, and the even powers of spin-spin correlation functions and their disorder averages. We examine in detail the square-lattice, nearest-neighbor $\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}J$ RBIM, in which bonds are independently antiferromagnetic with probability p, and ferromagnetic with probability $1\ensuremath{-}p.$ Studying temperatures $T>~0.4J,$ we obtain precise coordinates in the $p\ensuremath{-}T$ plane for points on the phase boundary between ferromagnet and paramagnet, and for the multicritical (Nishimori) point. We demonstrate scaling flow towards the pure Ising fixed point at small p, and determine critical exponents at the multicritical point.

Phase diagrams of the diluted and random-bond Ising model

Ligia Edith Zamora, German Antonio Pérez Alcázar, Alberto Bohorquez +2 more

The quenched-bond disordered Ising model is studied by means of the mean-field renormalization-group approach. Besides dilution and ferromagnetic random bond, the probability distribution function also includes two extra competing random bonds which can be ferromagnetic or antiferromagnetic, depending on the sign of some competing parameters. The critical temperature against ferromagnetic bond concentration phase diagrams are analyzed for several values of the theoretical parameters.
