We introduce a large class of holomorphic quantum states by choosing their normalization functions to be given by generalized hypergeometric functions. We call them generalized hypergeometric states in general, and generalized hypergeometric coherent states in particular, if they allow a resolution of unity. Depending on the domain of convergence of the generalized hypergeometric functions, we distinguish generalized hypergeometric states on the plane, the open unit disc and the unit circle. All states are eigenstates of suitably defined lowering operators. We then study their photon number statistics and phase properties as revealed by the Husimi and Pegg–Barnett phase distributions. On the basis of the generalized hypergeometric coherent states we introduce new analytic representations of arbitrary quantum states in Bargmann and Hardy spaces as well as generalized hypergeometric Husimi distributions and corresponding phase distributions.

We construct a new family of deformed states. These states are normalizable on the whole complex plane and continuous in their label z . Under fixed values of parameters, they allow the resolution of unity in the form of an ordinary integral with a positive weight function obtained through the analytic solution of the associated Stieltjes power-moment problem. In addition to the mathematical characteristics, the quantum statistical properties of these states are analytically and numerically discussed in detail in the context of conventional as well as deformed quantum optics. We find that, for non-deformed photons, the states exhibit quadrature squeezing and their photon number statistics is sub-Poissonian. On the other hand, for deformed photons, the states are super-Poissonian and no quadrature squeezing occurs.
In this paper, we introduce a new family of photon-added as well as photon-depleted q -deformed coherent states related to the inverse q -boson operators. These states are constructed via the generalized inverse q -boson operator actions on a newly introduced family of q -deformed coherent states (Quesne C 2002 J. Phys. A: Math. Gen. 35 9213 ) which are defined by slightly modifying the maths-type q -deformed coherent states. The quantum statistical properties of these photon-added and photon-depleted states, such as quadrature squeezing and photon-counting statistics, are discussed analytically and numerically in the context of both conventional (nondeformed) and deformed quantum optics.
The Heisenberg algebra is first deformed with the set of parameters
q,l,λ to generate a new family of generalized coherent states. In this framework, the matrix elements of relevant operators are exactly computed. A proof on sub-Poissonian character of the statistics of the main deformed states is provided. This property is used to determine a generalized metric. A unified method of calculating structure functions from commutation relations of deformed single-mode oscillator algebras is then presented. A natural approach to building coherent states associated to deformed algebras is deduced. Known deformed algebras are given as illustration. Futhermore, we generalize a class of two-parameter deformed Heisenberg algebras related to meromorphic functions, called
R(p,q)-deformed algebra. Relevant families of coherent states maps are probed and their corresponding hypergeometric series are computed. The latter generalizes known hypergeometric series and gives to a generalization of the binomial theorem. The involved notions of differentiation and integration generalize the usual
q- and
(p,q)-differentiation and integration. A Hopf algebra structure compatible with the
R(p,q)-algebra is deduced. We succeed in giving a new characterization of Rogers- Szegö polynomials, called
R(p,q)-deformed Rogers-Szegö polynomials, by their three-term recursion relations and the associated quantum algebra built with corresponding creation and annihilation operators. Continuous
R(p,q)-deformed Hermite polynomials and their recursion relation are also deduced. Novel algebraic relations are provided and discussed. The whole formalism is performed in a unified way, generalizing known relevant results which are straightforwardly derived as particular cases.
We review the definition of hypergeometric coherent states, discussing some representative examples. Then, we study mathematical and statistical properties of hypergeometric Schrödinger cat states, defined as orthonormalized eigenstates of kth powers of nonlinear f-oscillator annihilation operators, with f of the hypergeometric type. These “k-hypercats” can be written as an equally weighted superposition of hypergeometric coherent states ∣zl⟩, l = 0, 1, …, k − 1, with zl = ze2πil/k a kth root of zk, and they interpolate between number and coherent states. This fact motivates a continuous circle representation for high k. We also extend our study to truncated hypergeometric functions (finite dimensional Hilbert spaces), and a discrete exact circle representation is provided. We also show how to generate k-hypercats by amplitude dispersion in a Kerr medium and analyze their generalized Husimi Q-function in the super- and sub-Poissonian cases at different fractions of the revival time.
