Validity of spin-wave theory for the quantum Heisenberg model

Michele Correggi, Alessandro Giuliani, Robert Seiringer

Spin-wave theory is a key ingredient in our comprehension of quantum spin systems, and is used successfully for understanding a wide range of magnetic phenomena, including magnon condensation and stability of patterns in dipolar systems. Nevertheless, several decades of research failed to establish the validity of spin-wave theory rigorously, even for the simplest models of quantum spins. A rigorous justification of the method for the three-dimensional quantum Heisenberg ferromagnet at low temperatures is presented here. We derive sharp bounds on its free energy by combining a bosonic formulation of the model introduced by Holstein and Primakoff with probabilistic estimates and operator inequalities.

Model of Emergent Organizational Levels

Berta, Tamás

Abstract In the Standard Model, particles exhibit a dual nature, an observation derived from the perspective of the material world. However, the framework remains ambiguous as to whether particles inherently possess wave properties or if waves possess particle properties. To resolve this, the Model of Emergent Organizational Levels is proposed. In this model, organizational levels define a specific structural hierarchy. Establishing this order is advantageous because it allows for the construction of a comprehensive framework describing both quantum mechanics and cosmology based on a minimal set of initial assumptions. The core mechanism is emergence, through which increasingly complex phenomena are built. These phenomena form distinct levels, providing the model with a rigorous logical structure. This approach demonstrates how a complex system can arise from a limited set of fundamental rules. The first section details the foundations of quantum mechanics within this emergent context.

Full-Wave Hamiltonian Analysis of a Coaxial-Fed 3D Microwave Cavity Resonator

Soomin Moon, Thomas E. Roth

Quantum electromagnetic effects in superconducting circuits are promising phenomena to develop revolutionary quantum information processing technologies. To design complex circuits, there is a need for the development of accurate full-wave numerical models. In this work, we study the simpler classical full-wave Hamiltonian of a coaxial-fed rectangular waveguide cavity to validate field-based parts of the corresponding quantum Hamiltonian. We present the formulation of the system Hamiltonian and derive equations of motion. We compare results from our formulation using numerical eigenmodes to traditional transmission simulations of the system to validate the approach.
