Test of Nonlocality with an Atom-Field Entangled State

Zheng Shi-Biao

We propose a scheme for the test of nonlocality with atom-field entanglement. An atom is sent through a cavity filled with a coherent field with a small amplitude. The dispersive interaction leads to atom-field entanglement. Then the field is driven by a classical current. The Bell inequality can be tested by the joint measurement of the parity of the field and the atomic state.

Nonlocality of a single photon in cavity QED

Christopher C. Gerry

We study a model of single-photon nonlocality in which two separated cavities are prepared in an entangled state containing only one photon. The nonlocality is then transferred to two atoms probing each cavity. When the atoms are subsequently analyzed by classical microwave fields and selective ionization, Bell's inequalities are found to be violated for a wide range of atomic velocities. \textcopyright{} 1996 The American Physical Society.
