Two-photon excited coherence gratings in inhomogeneously broadened organic solid

Alex Karotki, Mikalai M. Kruk, Mikhail A. Drobizhev +1 more

For the first time a frequency-domain grating is observed in the visible region as a result of coherence excited by two-photon absorption of time-delayed near-IR femtosecond pulses in an inhomogeneously broadened organic solid-state system. The grating appears in chlorin (2,3-dihydroporphyrin)-doped polymer film at low temperature and is detected in two different ways. First, modulation is observed in the pure electronic fluorescence band upon 'resonant' two-photon excitation with laser carrier frequency equal to one-half of the fluorescence band maximum. Second, upon long exposure time at half of the transition frequency, a persistent spectral hole with periodic structure is observed. The two-photon absorption spectrum of the chlorin molecule in the spectral range 1130–1310nm is also presented for the first time.

Fluorescence of organic molecules in the microcavity at two-photon absorption

Elena E. Bykova, Аlexander А. Zemlyanov, Yu. É. Geints

The problem about fluorescence of organic molecules located in micropartical-cavity at two-photon absorption in the condition of laser pulse radiation influence taking into account stimulated transitions was theoretically investigated. The approach based on the metod of open-resonator theory with light fields expanded in series of quasinormal vibrational eigenmodes of a dielectric full sphere was used. For active molecules in microcavity the model of generalized two-level system noted with processes of two-photon absorption and emission, spontaneous and stimulated emissions on stokes frequencies was considered. The kinetic equations solution were obtained.

Resonant propagation of femtosecond laser pulse in DBASVP molecule: one-dimensional asymmetric organic molecule

Ke Zhao, Ji‐Cai Liu, Chuan‐Kui Wang +1 more

We have investigated the resonant propagation of femtosecond laser pulse in 4-trans-[p-(N, N-Di-n-butylamino)-p-stilbenyl vinyl] pyridine medium with permanent dipole moments. The electronic structures and parameters for the compound have been calculated by using density functional theory. In the optical regime, there is one charge-transfer state and the molecule can thus be simplified as a two-level system. Both the one- and two-photon transitions occur between the ground and charge-transfer states. The numerical results show that the permanent dipole moments have an obvious effect on the propagation of the ultrashort pulse laser. The ideal self-induced transparency disappears for 2π pulse and second harmonic spectral components occur significantly due to the two-photon absorption process. For the 6π pulse, continuum frequency generation is produced and a shorter duration pulse in time domain with 465 as is obtained.
