Abstract

Using the Faddeev equations in configuration space, we solve numerically the problem of three anyons interacting via harmonic forces. The relevance of our results to the many-anyon problem is discussed.

Numerical Solution of the Four-Anyon Problem

Ruan Wenying

By making use of the Talmi–Moshinsky transformation bracket, the Schrodinger equation for four anyons in configuration space has been solved variationally to obtain the eigenenergies and eigenfunctions. The low-lying states have been presented as functions of the statistical parameter. We illustrated how the bosonic states evolve continuously into the fermionic states.

ASYMPTOTIC ANALYSIS AND SPECTRUM OF THREE ANYONS

Ghanashyam Date, M. Krishna, M. V. N. Murthy

The spectrum of anyons confined in a harmonic oscillator potential shows both linear and nonlinear dependence on the statistical parameter. While the existence of exact linear solutions has been shown analytically, the nonlinear dependence has been arrived at by numerical and/or perturbative methods. We develop a method which shows the possibility of a nonlinearly interpolating spectrum. To be specific we analyze the eigenvalue equation in various asymptotic regions for the three-anyon problem.

Exact solutions of a many-anyon problem

Stefan V. Mashkevich

A scheme for obtaining exact analytic solutions of the problem of an arbitrary number of anyons in a harmonic well is developed. Its essence consists in establishing a set of wave functions with the demanded interchange properties followed by finding stationary state functions within this set by the method of successive approximations. The energy of the corresponding states depends linearly on the statistical parameter. The discussion of the obtained states is carried out.
