Abstract

The time evolution of the density of interacting atoms, molecules, and photons in the process of stimulated conversion is studied. It is shown that the process of pairwise coupling of atoms into molecules can be both periodic and aperiodic. The period of reaction oscillations is substantially determined by the initial densities of particles and initial phase difference.

Dynamics of Stimulated Atomic-Molecular Raman Conversion in a Bose-Einstein Condensate

P. I. Khadzhi, D. V. Tkachenko

A set of nonlinear evolution equations describing the dynamics of atoms, molecules, and photons in the course of stimulated atomic-molecular conversion in a Bose-Einstein condensate is derived and studied in the mean-field approximation. It is shown that conversion can be periodic or aperiodic in time, the rate of the process being determined to a considerable extent by the initial density of particles and by the initial phase difference. Depending on the initial conditions, various conversion modes can be realized. The possibility of stabilization of a special state (of rest) of the system for nonzero initial number densities of particles is predicted. It is pointed out that coherence of a Bose condensate of atoms, molecules, and photons predetermines the possibility of phase control of the conversion process.

Dynamics of stimulated Raman atom-molecule conversion

P. I. Khadzhi, Зинган Анна Петровна

The dynamics of stimulated Raman atom-molecule conversion in a Bose-Einstein condensate, i.e., periodic or aperiodic coupling of two dissimilar Bose atoms into a heteronuclear molecule, has been studied. It is shown that the period and amplitude of oscillations in the molecular density significantly depend on the initial particle densities and phase differences.

Phase control of stimulated Raman atom-molecule conversion in a Bose-Einstein condensate

P. I. Khadzhi, D. V. Tkachenko

The possibility of phase control over coupling of Bose-condensed atoms into molecules is justified. It is shown that the time evolution of stimulated Raman atom-molecule conversion is determined significantly by the initial densities of particles and by the initial phase difference between material and electromagnetic waves.

Features of stimulated atomic-molecular conversion with the formation of heteronuclear molecules in Bose-Einstein condensates

P. I. Khadzhi, Зинган Анна Петровна

The dynamics of optically stimulated atomic-molecular conversion in a Bose-Einstein condensate has been investigated, i.e., the periodic association of two unlike Bose atoms into a heteronuclear molecule followed by dissociation of the molecule into two atoms. It has been shown that the period and amplitude of the molecular density oscillations depend substantially on the initial particle densities and phase difference.
