Abstract

We propose a different scheme to realize holonomic quantum computation with rf superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) qubits in a microwave cavity. In this scheme associated with the non-Abelian holonomies, the single-qubit gates and a two-qubit controlled-PHASE gate as well as a controlled-NOT gate can be easily constructed by tuning adiabatically the Rabi frequencies of classical microwave pulses coupled to the SQUIDs. The fidelity of these gates is estimated to be possibly higher than 90% with the current technology.

Efficient Scheme for One-Way Quantum Computing with Radiofrequency SQUID Qubits by Adiabatic Passage

Song Ming-yu

We proposed an efficient scheme for constructing a quantum controlled phase-shift gate and generating the cluster states with rf superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDs) coupled to a microwave cavity through adiabatic evolution of dark eigenstates. During the operation, the spontaneous emission is suppressed since the rf SQUIDs are always in the three lowest flux states. Considering the influence from the cavity decay with achievable experimental parameters, we numerically analyze the success probability and the fidelity for generating the two-SQUID maximally entangled state and the controlled phase-shift gate by adiabatic passage.

Holonomic quantum computation on microwave photons with all resonant interactions

Ping Dong, Long-Bao Yu, Jian Zhou

Abstract The intrinsic difficulties of holonomic quantum computation on superconducting circuits are originated from the use of three levels in superconducting transmon qubits and the complicated dispersive interaction between them. Due to the limited anharmonicity of transmon qubits, the experimental realization seems to be very challenging. However, with recent experimental progress, coherent control over microwave photons in superconducting circuit cavities is well achieved, and thus provides a promising platform for quantum information processing with photonic qubits. Here, with all resonant inter-cavity photon–photon interactions, we propose a scheme for implementing scalable holonomic quantum computation on a circuit QED lattice. In our proposal, three cavities, connected by a SQUID, are used to encode a logical qubit. By tuning the inter-cavity photon–photon interaction, we can construct all the holonomies needed for universal quantum computation in a non-adiabatic way. Therefore, our scheme presents a promising alternative for robust quantum computation with microwave photons.

Quantum computation and W -state generation using superconducting flux qubits coupled to a cavity without geometric and dynamical manipulation

Kehui Song, Shao-Hua Xiang, Qiong Liu +1 more

Based on superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUID's) coupled to a cavity, we propose a scheme for implementing a quantum phase-shift gate and generating a $W$ state by an adiabatic evolution of dark eigenstates, without any contributions from dynamical and geometric gates. The Sole requirement is of adiabatically increasing or decreasing Rabi frequencies of classical microwave pluses. Thus, the manipulation is robust against certain types of errors. We also analyze the experimental possibility that identical coupling can be achieved between SQUID qubits and cavity fields, and the cavity decay can be ignored in certain conditions. Based on a simple operation, our scheme may be realized in this solid-state system.

A scheme is proposed for implementing a controlled-NOT gate via superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) in cavity-QED. The controlled-NOT gate can be achieved by coupling the SQUID to a single-mode microwave cavity field or classical microwave pluses. The scheme may be experimentally realizable.

One-step implementing three-qubit phase gate via manipulating rf SQUID qubits in the decoherence-free subspace with respect to cavity decay

Shao Xiao-Qiang, Chen Li, Zhang Shou +1 more

We present a scheme for implementing a three-qubit phase gate via manipulating rf superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) qubits in the decoherence-free subspace with respect to cavity decay. Through appropriate changes of the coupling constants between rf SQUIDs and cavity, the scheme can be realized only in one step. A high fidelity is obtained even in the presence of decoherence.
