Abstract

A model of a three-level atom in the Λ-configuration interacting with a two-mode field under a multi-photon process is considered. The effects of the mean photon numbers, detuning, Kerr-like medium parameters and various forms of the intensity-dependent coupling functional are considered. Analytical expressions for the time unitary operator, the density operator and the final state of the system are analyzed via the framework of the dressed states. The atom is prepared in its upper excited state, and the fields are prepared in binomial states. The general conclusions reached are illustrated by numerical results displaying the effects of photon-number, detuning and nonlinearities of both the field and intensity-dependent atom–field couplings.

Entanglement for a general formalism of a three-level atom in a V-configuration interacting nonlinearly with a non-correlated two-mode field

A.‐S. F. Obada, Sadek Ahmed Hanoura, A. A. Eied

A model of a three-level atom V-configuration interacting with a two-mode field through the mechanism of multi-photon transition is studied. The effects of mean photon numbers, detuning, and the Kerr-like medium parameters are investigated within various forms of the intensity-dependent coupling functional. Analytical expressions for the time evolution and the reduced atomic density operators of the system are obtained in the context of the framework of the dressed states. The atom is prepared in its uppermost excited state and the fields are prepared in binomial states. General conclusions reached are illustrated by numerical results.

Entanglement of a general formalism Λ-type three-level atom interacting with a non-correlated two-mode cavity field in the presence of nonlinearities

A.‐S. F. Obada, A. A. Eied, G. M. Abd Al-Kader

We investigate the evolution of the atomic quantum entropy and the atom–field entanglement in a system of a Λ-configuration three-level atom interacting with a two-mode field with additional forms of nonlinearities of both the field and the intensity-dependent atom–field coupling. With the derivation of the unitary operator within the frame of the dressed state and the exact results for the state of the system we perform a careful investigation of the temporal evolution of the entropy. A factorization of the initial density operator is assumed, considering the field to be initially in a non-correlated two-mode squeezed coherent or binomial state. The effects of the mean photon number, detuning, Kerr-like medium and the intensity-dependent coupling functional on the entropy are analysed.

Entanglement in a system of a three-level atom interacting with a single-mode field in the presence of arbitrary forms of the nonlinearity and of the atomic initial state

A.‐S. F. Obada, Sadek Ahmed Hanoura, A. A. Eied

The interaction of a three-level atom in the V -configuration with a single-mode field under the mechanism of a multi-photon transition is studied. Influences of different possible choices of the atomic initial state, the mean photon number, the nonlinearity of the Kerr-like medium and the detuning parameters within various forms of the intensity-dependent atom–field couplings on the von Neumann entropy are analyzed. Simple analytical expressions of the unitary time evolution and density operators in the context of the framework of the dressed states are derived. General conclusions reached are illustrated by numerical results.

Dynamics of entropy and nonclassical properties of the state of a Λ-type three-level atom interacting with a single-mode cavity field with intensity-dependent coupling in a Kerr medium

Mohammad Javad Faghihi, Mohammad Kazem Tavassoly

In this paper, we study the interaction between a three-level atom and a quantized single-mode field with 'intensity-dependent coupling' in a 'Kerr medium'. The three-level atom is considered to be in a Λ-type configuration. Under particular initial conditions, which may be prepared for the atom and the field, the dynamical state vector of the entire system will be explicitly obtained, for the arbitrary nonlinearity function f(n) associated with any physical system. Then, after evaluating the variation of the field entropy against time, we will investigate the quantum statistics as well as some of the nonclassical properties of the introduced state. During our calculations we investigate the effects of intensity-dependent coupling, Kerr medium and detuning parameters on the depth and domain of the nonclassicality features of the atom–field state vector. Finally, we compare our obtained results with those of V -type three-level atoms.
