HIGHLY DEFORMED q-OSCILLATOR SYSTEMS

Abstract

We consider the large q limit of systems made of deformed Heisenberg operators. When the deformation parameter is infinite the Fock space and the statistical properties have a fermionic behaviour. We also investigate the ideal q-gas and find the virial expansion of its equation of state.

DEFORMED GAS OF p, q-BOSONS: VIRIAL EXPANSION AND VIRIAL COEFFICIENTS

A. M. GAVRILIK, A. P. REBESH

In the study of many-particle systems both the interaction of particles can be essential and such feature as their internal (composite) structure. To describe these aspects, the theory of deformed oscillators is very efficient. Viewing the particles as p, q-deformed bosons, in the corresponding p, q-Bose gas model we obtain in explicit form virial expansion along with the 2nd to 5th virial coefficients. The obtained virial coefficients depend on the deformation parameters p, q in the form symmetric under p ↔ q, and at p → 1, q → 1 turn into those known for usual bosons. Besides real parameters, we analyze the case of complex mutually conjugate p and q and find interesting implications. Also, the critical temperature is derived (for the p, q-Bose gas) and compared with the Tc of standard case of bosons condensation. Similar results are presented for the deformed Bose gas model of the Tamm–Dancoff (TD) type.

Statistics of q-oscillators, quons and relations to fractional statistics

Масуд Чайчиан, R. González Felipe, Claus Montonen

The statistics of q-oscillators, quons, and, to some extent, of anyons are studied and the basic differences among these objects are pointed out In particular, the statistical distributions for different bosonic and fermionic q-oscillators are found for their corresponding Fock space representations in the case when the Hamiltonian is identified with the number operator. In this case and for non-relativistic particles, the single-particle temperature Green function is defined with q-deformed periodicity conditions. The equations of state for nonrelativistic and ultrarelativistic bosonic q-gases in an arbitrary space dimension are found near Bose statistics, as well as that for an anyonic gas near Bose and Fermi statistics. The first corrections to the second virial coefficients are also evaluated.

q-DEFORMED FERMIONS: ALGEBRA, FOCK SPACE AND THERMODYNAMICS

P. Narayana Swamy

We investigate an algebra describing q-deformed Fermion oscillators. We establish the nature of the basic numbers which follow from this algebra, study the Fock space of these generalized Fermions and determine the Jackson Derivative appropriate for these Fermions. The statistical thermodynamics of these Fermions is examined and it is demonstrated that a consistent formulation preserving its full Legendre structure is accomplished by the use of Jackson Derivatives in place of the ordinary thermodynamic derivatives. We determine the important thermodynamic functions and illustrate the thermodynamic properties of q-Fermions.
