Quantum Transport Through Two Series Aharonov–Bohm Interferometers

Chong Yang

The electronic transport through series Aharonov–Bohm interferometers is investigated. We study the effect of the algebraic sum and the difference of two magnetic fluxes the quantum transport. We print the figure of local state density through transform the system to an effective decoupled one and verify the effect of magnetic fluxes difference on Fano effect.

On the pilot-field representation of quantum transport theory

J R Barker

A critique is given of the Bohm-de Broglie pilot-wave representation of quantum mechanics as applied to quantum transport theory. It is argued that particle trajectories can exist only if they are stochastic. An extension of the Bohm-de Broglie theory is outlined which generates the conventional picture from an ensemble-averaged coupled particle-stochastic field. Consequences for tunnel time estimates and possible experimental verification with single-electronic devices are discussed.

Achieving nonreciprocal unidirectional single-photon quantum transport using the photonic Aharonov–Bohm effect

Luqi Yuan, Shanshan Xu, Shanhui Fan

We show that nonreciprocal unidirectional single-photon quantum transport can be achieved with the photonic Aharonov-Bohm effect. The system consists of a 1D waveguide coupling to two three-level atoms of the V-type. The two atoms, in addition, are each driven by an external coherent field. We show that the phase of the external coherent field provides a gauge potential for the photon states. With a proper choice of the phase difference between the two coherent fields, the transport of a single photon can exhibit unity contrast in its transmissions for the two propagation directions.
