Abstract

The interaction of a mesoscopic Josephson junction (MJJ) with the excited even and odd coherent states is investigated. Some properties of the supercurrent in the MJJ in the presence of nonclassical light fields, such as collapse and revival phenomenon, the current–voltage step, dc component fluctuation and quantum coherence of supercurrent, are studied. It is shown that the expectation values and the fluctuation of supercurrent can exhibit dc components. It is also shown that the static supercurrent flows, dc components of the supercurrent fluctuation and correlation function of the dc supercurrent components, are related to the phase of the light field.

Interaction of mesoscopic Josephson junction with superposition of even and odd coherent states

Zhao-Xian Yu, Zhi-Yong Jiao, Zhi-Ming Bai

The interaction of a mesoscopic Josephson junction with superposition of even and odd coherent states is investigated. It is found that the expectation value and the fluctuation of a supercurrent can exhibit dc components. The number of current-voltage steps (CVSs) for the former are less than the latter. For the former the static supercurrent flows in a positive or negative direction, which depends on the phase of the light field. The correlation function and squeezing of the dc components of a supercurrent depend on the value of CVS. For some special value of a CVS, the squeezing disappears.

The interaction of a mesoscopic Josephson junction with the second-order excitation of the even coherent state is investigated. It is found that the expectation value and the fluctuation of supercurrent can exhibit dc components. The static supercurrent flows in the positive or negative direction, which depends on the phase of the light field. It is shown that the dc components of the supercurrent fluctuation are also related to the phase of the light field.

Supercurrent and Its Quantum Statistical Properties in Mesoscopic Josephson Junction in the Presence of Nonclassical Light Fields

Kuang Le-Man, Wang Yiwen, Mo‐Lin Ge

In this paper, we study the supercurrent in a mesoscopic Josephson junction (MJJ) and its quantum statistical properties in the presence of nonclassical light fields. We investigate in detail the influence of external nonclassical light fields on current-voltage step structures of the MJJ. We also study in detail quantum statistical properties of the supercurrent when the external quantum electromagnetic fields are even and odd coherent-state light fields. It is shown that the supercurrent in the MJJ exhibits both squeezing effect and quantum coherences. It is demonstrated that the MJJ can feel the difference not only between classical light fields and nonclassical light fields but also between different nonclassical light fields.

Nonclassical Properties in Mesoscopic Josephson Junction with Excited Even and Odd Coherent States

You-Bang Zhan, Zhou Ping, Hao Fu

Dynamic evolution of a mesoscopic Josephson junction (MJJ) interacting with excited even and odd coherent states is studied. It is shown that the supercurrent in MJJ exhibits both collapse and revival (CR) phenomenon and squeezing effect. It is also shown that the CR and squeezing of supercurrent are related to degree of excitation and average photon number.
