Abstract

It is shown that the ground state of the symmetric one-dimensional periodic Anderson model on a bipartite lattice with periodic boundary conditions is a pseudospin singlet and has total momentum equal to zero. \textcopyright{} 1996 The American Physical Society.

Singlet ground state of the periodic Anderson model at half filling: A rigorous result

Kazuo Ueda, Hirokazu Tsunetsugu, Manfred Sigrist

It is proved that the ground state of the symmetric periodic Anderson model forms a total spin singlet at half filling. This result can also be applied to the Kondo lattice model, at least for the weak and the very strong antiferromagnetic-coupling limit. For the strong coupling limit of the Kondo lattice it is additionally proved that the singlet ground state exists even when two holes are doped to the half-filled band.

Theorems to Demonstrate the Presence of Antiferromagnetism in the Periodic Anderson Model

Omamoke O. E. Enaroseha, Ejiroghene G. Akpojotor, Lawrence Atuma

Anderson model is an important model in the theory of strongly correlated electron system. In this study, we explore the ground state of this model and the concept of electron correlation by bipartite lattice and prove rigorously theorems leading to the presence of spin singlet in the model. By using the results of Ueda et al [15] and Tian [16], we show theoretically that the ground state of the symmetric periodic Anderson model has a short – range order antiferromagnetism.

Ground state of the periodic anderson model: comparison of exact diagonalization and monte carlo results

D. P. Chen, J. Callaway

The ground-state properties of the symmetric periodic Anderson model on a one-dimensional lattice are studied by exact diagonalization for a small (four-site) cluster. Comparison is made with results obtained for a larger (sixteen-site) ring obtained by Monte Carlo techniques. Excellent agreement is found for the range of parameters considered.

Hubbard and Anderson models on perovskitelike lattices: Exactly solvable cases

U. Brandt, Andreas Giesekus

Exact solutions of the Hubbard model and the periodic Anderson model in the limit of infinite interaction strength are presented. Both models are studied on a D-dimensional decorated hypercubic lattice with periodic boundary conditions for any dimension D\ensuremath{\ge}2 and arbitrary size. The lattice is very similar to the perovskite lattice. In addition to the ground-state energy, a corresponding eigenstate is constructed. This ground state contains at least two particles per unit cell. For the Anderson model, the exact solution is restricted to a surface in the (${\mathit{E}}_{\mathit{f}}$,V) parameter space; however, the resulting relation V(${\mathit{E}}_{\mathit{f}}$) does not lead to unphysical parameters.
