Abstract

A novel efficient deterministic secure quantum communication scheme based on four-qubit cluster states and single-photon identity authentication is proposed. In this scheme, the two authenticated users can transmit two bits of classical information per cluster state, and its efficiency of the quantum communication is 1/3, which is approximately 1.67 times that of the previous protocol presented by Wang et al [ Chin. Phys. Lett. 23 (2006) 2658]. Security analysis shows the present scheme is secure against intercept-resend attack and the impersonator's attack. Furthermore, it is more economic with present-day techniques and easily processed by a one-way quantum computer.

A novel efficient deterministic secure quantum communication protocol with four-qubit cluster states is proposed. By making Bell measurement and single-photon measurement, the two legitimate users can transmit the secret messages after exchanging some additional classical information. It has a high capacity as each cluster state can carry three bits of classical information, and its total efficiency of the quantum communication is 1/2, which is 2.5 times than that in the previous protocol. Analysis shows it is secure and feasible with present-day technique.

AN EFFICIENT DETERMINISTIC SECURE QUANTUM COMMUNICATION SCHEME WITH CLUSTER STATE

A novel efficient scheme for deterministic secure quantum communication with cluster state is proposed. By utilizing Bell-basis- and [Formula: see text]-basis-measurements, the two legitimate users can directly transmit secret message after exchanging some additional classical information. It has a high capacity as each cluster state can carry two bits of information, and has a high intrinsic efficiency because almost all the instances are useful. Since the present scheme is based on the cluster state which is robust against decoherence, it is easily processed by a one-way quantum computer. Furthermore, this scheme is feasible with present-day technique.

Quantum secure direct communication scheme based on the mixture of single photon and Bell state with two way authentication

Xian-Tao Zhou, Yinghua Jiang, Xiaojun Guo +1 more

In response to the demand for identity authentication in quantum secure direct communication, this paper proposes a quantum secure direct communication scheme based on a mixture of single photon and Bell state, by combining the bidirectional identity authentication. Before communication begins, both parties share a series of secret information to prepare a series of single photon and Bell state particles. Encoding four single photons and four Bell states yields eight types of encoded information, followed by identity authentication. The first step in identity authentication is to use a single photon to verify the legitimacy of the receiver. If the error exceeds the given threshold, it indicates the presence of eavesdropping. Otherwise, the channel is safe. Then, Bell state particles are used to verify the legitimacy of the sender, and the threshold is also used to determine whether there is eavesdropping. The present method is the same as previous one. If the error rate is higher than the given threshold, it indicates the existence of third-party eavesdropping. Otherwise, it indicates that the channel is secure. As for the specific verification method, it will be explained in detail in the article. Afterwards, Bell state particles are mixed with a single photon as a transmission carrier, and eavesdropping detection particles are added whenever the quantum state is sent. However, once the eavesdropper intercepts the transmitted particles, owing to incomplete information obtained, the eavesdropper is unable to recover the original information, and the eavesdropping behavior will be immediately detected, thus terminating communication. In this scheme, single photon and Bell states are fully utilized, and hybrid communication can effectively improve transmission efficiency, encoding capability, and quantum bit utilization. Security analysis shows that this scheme can resist common external and internal attacks such as interception/measurement replay attacks, auxiliary particle attacks, and identity impersonation attacks. The analysis of efficiency and encoding capacity shows that the transmission efficiency of this scheme is 1, the encoding capacity is 3 bits per state, and the quantum bit utilization rate is 1. Compared with other schemes, this scheme has significant advantages because it uses different particles for bidirectional authentication, making it more difficult for attackers to crack, and thus it has higher security than traditional schemes.

Deterministic Secure Quantum Communication with Cluster State and Bell-Basis Measurements

Yuan Hao, He Qin, Hu Xiao-Yuan +3 more

We present a novel protocol for deterministic secure quantum communication by using the four-qubit cluster state as quantum channel. It is shown that two legitimate users can directly transmit the secret messages based on Bell-basis measurements and classical communication. The present protocol makes use of the ideas of block transmission and decoy particle checking technique. It has a high capacity as each cluster state can carry two bits of information, and has a high intrinsic efficiency because almost all the instances except the decoy checking particles (its number is negligible) are useful. Furthermore, this protocol is feasible with present-day technique.

An efficient controlled quantum secure direct communication and authentication by using four particle cluster states

Milad Nanvakenari, Monireh Houshmand

In this paper, a three-party controlled quantum secure direct communication and authentication (QSDCA) protocol is proposed by using four particle cluster states via a quantum one-time pad and local unitary operations. In the present scheme, only under the permission of the controller, the sender and the receiver can implement secure direct communication successfully. But under any circumstances, Charlie cannot obtain the secret message. Eavesdropping detection and identity authentication are achieved with the help of the previously shared reusable base identity strings of users. This protocol is unconditionally secure in both ideal and practical noisy cases. In one transmission, a qubit of each four particle cluster state is used as controller’s permission and the same qubit with another qubit are used to recover two classical bits of information. In the proposed scheme, the efficiency is improved compared with the previous works.

In this paper, a novel deterministic secure quantum communication scheme with four-qubit W states is proposed. By utilizing four kinds of unitary operations, the two legitimate users can directly transmit the secret messages based on the Bell measurements and some additional classical information. Analysis shows that our scheme has a high capacity as each W state can carry two bits of secret information, and has a high efficiency as the intrinsic efficiency approaches the maximal value 100% and the total efficiency is 33.3%. Moreover, this scheme is unconditionally secure and feasible with present-day technique.
