Abstract

We develop a systematical method by which the investigation of the general structure of Bose-Einstein condensates with arbitrary spin has been reduced to solving a one-order linear partial-differential equation of a very simple form. Its general solutions for arbitrary spin are studied and a procedure is also developed to seek systematically the building blocks for constructing the general structure of Bose-Einstein condensates with arbitrary spin.

General Structure of Bose-Einstein Condensates with Arbitrary Spin

Tin-Lun Ho, Lan Yin

Motivated by the recent discoveries of spin-1 and pseudo-spin-1/2 Bose gas, we have studied the general structure of the Bose gases with arbitrary spin. A general method is developed to uncover the elementary building blocks of the angular momentum eigenstates, as well as the relations (or interactions) between them. Applications of this method to Bose gas with integer spins $(f\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}=\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}1,2,3)$ and half integer spins $(f\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}=\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}1/2,3/2)$ reveal many surprising structures.

Complete classification of solutions for spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensates in R

Xiao Luo, Cunxin Wei, Juncheng Wei +1 more

Spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensates provide a fundamental platform for exploring quantum magnetism and coherent spin dynamics. Their three Zeeman components are coupled by spin-exchange interactions under conserved particle number and magnetization, giving rise to rich magnetic phases and nonlinear spin structures; a rigorous classification of stationary states therefore clarifies the possible spin configurations and their physical origins. In this paper, as a continuation of our previous work \cite{LLWZ23,LLWZ24,LLWZ26}, we study the classification of solution for the spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensates in $\mathbb{R}$, by applying the non-standard Hirota's bilinear method, the determinant formula and the general left-uniqueness strategy, we present some novel explicit solution and give the complete classification of the solutions. In comparison with the classical Hirota's method, the non-standard Hirota's method needs to introduce auxiliary functions to construct Hirota's bilinear form, which essentially adds additional constraint on the wave functions, so that it possible to deal with more complex equations. As far as we know, this is the first systematic study the complete classification of solutions to the spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensates. Our classification results yields experimentally testable predictions for spin populations, relative phases, and magnetic textures

Exact periodic and solitonic states in the spinor condensates

Zhihai Zhang, Shi-Jie Yang

We propose a method to analytically solve the one-dimensional coupled nonlinear Gross-Pitaevskii equations which govern the motion of the spinor Bose-Einstein condensates. In a uniform external potential, the Hamiltonian comprises the kinetic energy, the linear and the quadratic Zeeman energies. Several classes of exact periodic and solitonic solutions, either in real or in complex forms, are obtained for both the F=1 and F=2 condensates. These solutions are general that contain neither approximations nor constraints on the system parameters.

ON THEORY OF BOSE-EINSTEIN CONDENSATION OF PARTICLES WITH ARBITRARY INTEGER SPIN

Abdus Salam

The Bogoliubov theory of weakly interacting Bose gas is generalized to Bose-Einstein condensates (BEC) of particles with arbitrary integer spin in a magnetic eld. On the basis of the Bogoliubov method of quasiaverages, an equation for the condensate wave function is obtained. The ground state properties, thermodynamic stability, and excitation spectra of such BEC are studied. The obtained results are compared to spin-1 Bose condensate.

Dynamics of the Center of Mass in Arbitrary-Angle Rotating Bose-Einstein Condensates

Qingzhou Shu

This paper investigates the dynamics of the center of mass in three-dimensional arbitrary-angle rotating Bose-Einstein condensates (ARotBECs), which are governed by the Gross-Pitaevskii equation (GPE) with an arbitrary-angle angular momentum rotation term. The second-order ordinary differential equations (ODEs) which govern the motion of the center of mass of ARotBECs are analytically solved. Subsequently, a novel numerical scheme, which is mass conservative — i.e. the Lagrangian multiplier-based Crank-Nicolson leap-frog (LagM-CNLF) method, integrated with Fourier pseudo-spectral spatial discretization, is proposed to efficiently and accurately simulate the GPE with arbitrary-angle rotation term. Finally, distinct motion patterns of the center of mass are systematically categorized based on analytical solutions and rigorously validated through direct numerical simulations of the GPE, demonstrating robust consistency between theoretical predictions and numerical computational results. The dynamics of quantized vortices is also studied to show the effectiveness of the LagM-CNLF method.
