A METHOD OF GENERATING EXACT SOLUTIONS OF THE TIME-DEPENDENT SCHRÖDINGER EQUATION WITH TIME-DEPENDENT MASS

Abstract

Extending the method presented in our previous paper,12 we map the time-dependent Schrödinger equation (TDSE) with time-dependent mass on a stationary Schrödinger equation for a nonconstant potential. On solving the latter, we can thus generate a large class of exact solutions of the original TDSE. Several examples are given, including potentials of power-law and modified Pöschl–Teller type.

EQUIVALENCE OF TIME-DEPENDENT SCHRÖDINGER EQUATIONS WITH CONSTANT AND TIME-DEPENDENT MASS

Axel Schulze‐Halberg

We show that the time-dependent Schrödinger equation (TDSE) for a potential of the form V(x,t)=A(t)x2+B(t)x+C(t) and time-dependent mass can be transformed into the same TDSE with constant mass. We obtain an explicit formula relating solutions of the TDSE for time-dependent mass and for constant mass to each other.

Form-Preserving Transformations of Time-Dependent Schrödinger Equation with Time- and Position-Dependent Mass

Axel Schulze‐Halberg

We study space-time transformations of the time-dependent Schrödinger equation (TDSE) with time- and position-dependent (effective) mass. We obtain the most general space-time transformation that maps such a TDSE onto another one of its kind. The transformed potential is given in explicit form.

JAYNES-CUMMINGS MODEL AS A CASE STUDY FOR THE DERIVATION OF TIME-DEPENDENT SCHRÖDINGER EQUATION

Supitch Khemmani, Virulh Sa‐Yakanit

The derivation of a time-dependent Schrödinger equation (TDSE) from a time-independent Schrödinger equation (TISE) in the coherent state representation is considered for the special case of a simple coupled atom-field system described by the soluble Jaynes-Cummings model. The derivation shows why, from the outset, a linear combination of energy eigenstates, instead of a single state, must be used in order to obtain a TDSE for general states. Moreover, this study leads to a method of solving a TDSE by simply solving a TISE.

Numerical Solution Of The Time-Dependent Schrodinger equation

Bernardine Renaldo Wong, Swee-Ping Chia, Kurunathan Ratnavelu +1 more

We implement a method to numerically solve the Time‐Dependent Schrödinger Equation (TDSE) in one dimension. The time‐dependence is modeled using the Crank‐Nicholson formula. The discrete transparent boundary conditions are employed using a Numerov approximation formula. A normalized Gaussian wavefunction is propagated across a potential step and across a potential well of modified Poschl‐Teller form, respectively. Preliminary results will be presented.
