Abstract

Abstract The analytic expression of the Wigner function for bound eigenstates of the Hulthén potential in quantum phase space is obtained and presented by plotting this function for a few quantum states. In addition, the correct marginal distributions of the Wigner function in spherical coordinates are determined analytically.

The Wigner Function for a Quantum System with an Infinitely Deep Square-Well Potential

Shi‐Hai Dong, Guo-Hua Sun, Yu Jiang

The Wigner distribution function for a quantum system with an infinitely deep square-well potential is obtained analytically and presented by plotting the Wigner distribution functions on the quantum phase space. The cross-matrix elements of the expectation values of some classical quantities are also obtained. The case of the symmetrical square-well potential is studied briefly.

Phase-space representations of the Bloch equation

Robert F. O’Connell, Lipo Wang

We discuss the phase-space representation of the Bloch equation and present analytic expressions for two generalized classes of distribution functions. Series solutions to order of ${\ensuremath{\Elzxh}}^{2}$ are given. We conclude that the Wigner quantum corrections are the simplest among the two general classes of distribution functions.

Wigner functions of the finite square-well bound states

Peng Chen, Zhichun Yang, Zhi‐Cheng Shi +2 more

The bound states of a particle confined in a one-dimensional finite square well cannot be solved analytically, since the eigen-energies are determined by transcendental equations. Here, we numerically calculate the bound states and show their non-classical properties, using Wigner's quasi-probability distribution (also called the Wigner functions) in the phase space (x, p). In contrast to the infinite-well case, we find that the Wigner functions spread over the space dimension x, get squeezed along the momentum dimension p, and show negativity outside the well. Negativity in a Wigner function indicates non-classical properties of the bound states.

The bound state solutions of the D-dimensional Schrödinger equation for the Hulthén potential within SUSY quantum mechanics

H. I. Ahmadov, M. V. Qocayeva, N. Sh. Huseynova

In this paper, the analytical solutions of the [Formula: see text]-dimensional hyper-radial Schrödinger equation are studied in great detail for the Hulthén potential. Within the framework, a novel improved scheme to surmount centrifugal term, the energy eigenvalues and corresponding radial wave functions are found for any [Formula: see text] orbital angular momentum case within the context of the Nikiforov–Uvarov (NU) and supersymmetric quantum mechanics (SUSY QM) methods. In this way, based on these methods, the same expressions are obtained for the energy eigenvalues, and the expression of radial wave functions transforming each other is demonstrated. The energy levels are worked out and the corresponding normalized eigenfunctions are obtained in terms of orthogonal polynomials for arbitrary [Formula: see text] states for [Formula: see text]-dimensional space.

One - dimensional Infinite Potential Well of Particles Moving Wigner Function

Yanhui Li

As Wigner quasi-probability distribution function, the Wigner function contains the entire information in the evolution of the quantum states in the phase space. The function also has great significance in physics. This paper introduces the definition and nature of the Wigner function,as well as the general expression. Then,it used the integral method given Wigner function of a one-dimensional infinitely deep square potential well. Finally,we discuss the characteristics of the distribution of the function and point out that it is a real function of the phase space.
