The discontinuity of the specific heat for the 5D Ising model

P. H. Lundow, Klas Markström

In this paper we investigate the behaviour of the specific heat around the critical point of the Ising model in dimension 5 to 7. We find a specific heat discontinuity, like that for the mean field Ising model, and provide estimates for the left and right hand limits of the specific heat at the critical point. We also estimate the singular exponents, describing how the specific heat approaches those limits. Additionally, we make a smaller scale investigation of the same properties in dimension 6 and 7, and provide strongly improved estimates for the critical temperature Kc in d=5,6,7 which bring the best MC-estimate closer to those obtained by long high temperature series expansions.

Critical behaviour of the 2D Ising model with impurity bonds

Виктор Степанович Доценко, Vl.S. Dotsenko

The critical behaviour of the specific heat for the 2D Ising model with impurity bonds is found exactly by the method of Feynman's wanderings over a 2D lattice. In the critical region the model is equivalent to the spinar model with interaction-a zero-component Gross-Neveu model. The specific heat behaves like C approximately ln ln 1/ mod tau mod , as compared with C approximately -ln mod tau mod for the pure model. The slope of the phase transition curve T c ( nu ) near zero concentration of impurity bonds ( nu =0) is also found.

Determination of critical linear lattice size for the four dimensional Ising model on the Creutz cellular automaton

Ganimet Mülazımoğlu Kizilirmak

The four-dimensional Ising model is simulated on the Creutz cellular automaton (CCA) near the infinite-lattice critical temperature for the lattice with the linear dimension 4 ⩽ L ⩽ 22. The temperature dependence of Binder parameter (g L) are analyzed for the lattice with the linear dimension 4 ⩽ L ⩽ 22. In this study conducted highly detailed, two different types of behavior were determined as a result of varying linear lattice dimension. The infinite lattice critical temperatures are obtained to be T c = 6.6845 ± 0.0005 in interval 4 ⩽ L ⩽ 12 and T c = 6.6807 ± 0.0024 in interval 14 ⩽ L ⩽ 22. The finite and infinite lattice critical exponents for the order parameter, the magnetic susceptibility and the specific heat are computed from the results of simulations by using finite-size scaling relations. Critical linear lattice size have been identified as L = 14.
