Abstract

Some explicit constructions for exponent matrices which correspond to Tanner graphs with girth at least eight are proposed. From these results, for any row weight of L>3, (3,L) quasi-cyclic LDPC codes with girth at least eight are constructed for any circulant permutation matrix (CPM) size P>L(L+mod(L,2))/2.

Recursive construction of $(J,L)$ QC LDPC codes with girth 6

Mohammad Gholami, Zahra Haji Rahimi

‎In this paper‎, ‎a recursive algorithm is presented to generate some exponent matrices which correspond to Tanner graphs with girth at least 6‎. ‎For a $J times L$ exponent matrix $E$‎, ‎the lower bound $Q(E)$ is obtained explicitly such that $(J,L)$ QC LDPC codes with girth at least 6 exist for any circulant permutation matrix (CPM) size $m geq Q(E)$‎. ‎The results show that the exponent matrices constructed with our recursive algorithm have smaller lower-bound than the ones proposed recently with girth 6‎.

Deterministic Girth-Eight QC-LDPC Codes with Large Column Weight

Jianhua Zhang, Guohua Zhang

For any row weight L, several novel classes of (J = 5, L) and (J = 6, L) quasi-cyclic LDPC codes are deterministically constructed with girth eight. From these results, it is proved that (5, L) QC-LDPC codes with girth eight exist for any circulant permutation matrix (CPM) size P ≥ (2L + 3)(L - 1) + 1, and that girth-eight (6, L) QC-LDPC codes exist for any P ≥ 2(L+5)(L-1)+1. The two novel bounds remarkably improve the existing bounds of L2(L-1) + 1 and (L2+1)(L-1)+1, respectively. Moreover, for any column weight J and any row weight L, a construction for (J,L) QC-LDPC codes with girth eight is also proposed. This is the first deterministic and systematic construction which can generate girth-eight QC-LDPC codes with J ≥ 7.

(7,K) GIRTH-8 QC-LDPC CODES WITH AN EXPLICIT CONSTRUCTION

M. Majdzadeh, Mohammad Gholami, Gh. Raeisi

Recently, for each row weight $K$ and column-weight $J$, $3le J< K$, several classes of $(J,K)$ quasi-cyclic (QC) low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes with girth 8 have been constructed explicitly such that their corresponding lower-bounds on the size of circulant permutation matrices (CPMs) have been considered small as possible. In this paper, for $J=7$, a class of $(7,K)$ QC-LDPC codes with girth 8 is generated by an explicit method such that the lower-bounds of the constructed codes remarkably are better than the state-of-the-art bound $(K-1)(K^2+K)+1$.

Novel Constructions of QC-LDPC Codes with Girth at Least Eight:An Explicit Framework

Xinmei Wang

Enabling the parity-check matrices to have a large girth is an efficient method to improve the decoding performance for many binary and non-binary QC-LDPC codes.A new explicit framework to construct QC-LDPC codes with girth at least eight is proposed, without any computer search procedures. The QC-LDPC codes constructed by the framework not only have a girth at least eight, but also possess an advantage of consecutive cyclic permutation matrix(CPM) sizes. The framework includes two steps:first,a parity-check matrix is explicitly constructed with a girth at least eight under an infinite CPM size;second, the tight lower bound of consecutive CPM sizes is precisely calculated directly from the corresponding shift matrix of the parity-check matrix,by employing a new girth property discovered by this paper.

A subtraction based method for the construction of quasi-cyclic LDPC codes of girth eight

Ambar Bajpai, Lunchakorn Wuttisittikulkij, Abhishek Kalsi +1 more

This article presents a simple, less computational complexity method for constructing exponent matrix (3, K) having girth at least 8 of quasi-cyclic low-density parity-check (QC-LDPC) codes based on subtraction method. The construction of code deals with the generation of exponent matrix by three formulas. This method is flexible for any block-column length K. The simulations are shown in comparison with some existing appreciable work. The codes with girth 8 are constructed with circulant permutation matrix (CPM) size P ≥ max{a2, r, a2, r,….a2, k} + 1.
