Abstract

We make a numerical study of decoherence on the teleportation algorithm implemented in a linear chain of three nuclear spins system. We study different types of environments, and we determine the associated decoherence time as a function of the dissipative parameter. We found that the dissipation parameter to get a well defined quantum gates (without significant decoherence) must be within the range of γ≤4×10-4 for not thermalized case, which was determined by using the purity parameter calculated at the end of the algorithm. For the thermalized case the decoherence is stablished for very small dissipation parameter, making almost not possible to implement this algorithm for not zero temperature.

Study of Decoherence of Elementary Gates Implemented in a Chain of Few Nuclear Spins Quantum Computer Model

Gustavo V. López, P. López

We study the phenomenon of decoherence during the operation of one qubit transformation, controlled-not (CNOT) and controlled-controlled-not (C2NOT) quantum gates in a quantum computer model formed by a linear chain of three nuclear spins system. We make this study with different type of environments, and we determine the associated decoherence time as a function of the dissipative parameter. We found that the dissipation parameter to get a well defined quantum gates (without significant decoherence) must be within the range of . We also study the behavior of the purity parameter for these gates and different environments and found linear or quadratic decays of this parameter depending on the type of environments.

Numerical simulation of Quantum Teleportation in a chain of three nuclear spins system taking into account second neighbor interaction

Gustavo V. López, Lorena Lara

For a one-dimensional chain of three nuclear spins (one half), we make the numerical simulation of quantum teleportation of a given state from one end of the chain to the other end, taking into account first and second neighbor interactions among the spins. It is shown that a well defined teleportation protocol is achieved for a ratio of the first to second neighbor interaction coupling constant of $J'/J\ge 0.04$. We also show that the optimum Rabi's frequency to control the non-resonant effects is dominated by the second neighbor interaction coupling parameter ($J'$).

Quasi non-Markovian approach to the study of decoherence of a controlled-not quantum gate in a chain of few nuclear spins quantum computer

López, Pablo, Gustavo V. López

We develop in the weak coupling approximation a quasi-non-Markovian master equation and study the phenomenon of decoherence during the operation of a controlled-not (CNOT) quantum gate in a quantum computer model formed by a linear chain of three nuclear spins system with second neighbor Ising interaction between them. We compare with the behavior of the Markovian counterpart for temperature different from zero (thermalization) and at zero temperature for low and high dissipation rates. At low dissipation there is a very small difference between Markovian and quasi no-Markovian at any temperature which is unlikely to be measured, and at high dissipation there is a difference which is likely to be measured at any temperature.

Study of Decoherence of Entangled States Made up of Two Basic States in a Linear Chain of Three Qubits

Gustavo López Velázquez, Gustavo Montes Cabrera

Using Lindblad approach to study decoherence of quantum systems, we study the decoherence and decay of entangled states, formed by two basic states of a chain of thee qubits. We look on these states for a possible regular dependence on their decay as a function of their energy separation between the basic states under different types of environments. We didn’t find regular or significant dependence on this energy separation for the type of environment considered.

Teleportation in a nuclear spin quantum computer

G. P. Berman, Gustavo V. López, V. I. Tsifrinovich

We present a procedure for quantum teleportation in a nuclear spin quantum computer in which quantum logic gates are implemented by using selective electromagnetic pulses. A sequence of pulses is combined with single-spin measurements in the ${\ensuremath{\sigma}}^{z}$ basis for fast transfer of information in a spin quantum computer. We simulated this procedure for quantum teleportation in a nuclear spin chain with a large number (201) of spins. The systematic errors generated in the process of teleportation due to the non-resonant effects are analyzed in detail. We demonstrate that a $``2\ensuremath{\pi}k''$ method provides a significant reduction of errors.
