Generation of nonclassical states with a driven dispersive interaction

Abstract

We propose a scheme for the generation of various nonclassical states for a cavity field with a driven atom. In the scheme the atom is sent through the cavity and driven by a classical field. The atom interacts dispersively with the cavity field, which induces photon-number dependent Stark shift. Only for a desired Fock state, the atomic transition is tuned in resonance with the classical field. Thus, the measurement of the atomic transition may directly collapse the cavity field onto the desired Fock state. For a two-mode cavity field, pair coherent states and SU(2) coherent states can be generated.

Nonclassical properties of a state generated by a driven dispersive interaction

Naveen Kumar, Arpita Chatterjee

We consider a cavity field state, which is created by the atom-cavity field's interaction in the presence of a driven field. The two-level atom passes through the cavity and is driven by a weak classical field. A photon number dependent Stark shift is induced by the atom's dispersive interaction with the cavity field. When the atom is in excited state $|a\rangle$, the output cavity field thus obtained is taken into consideration. With the help of the state evaluated, we investigate different statistical properties such as photon number distribution, Wigner function, Mandel's $Q$ parameter and squeezing.

A scheme for generating two-photon and three-photon states of a cavity field using resonant single atoms

Shi-Biao Zheng

We propose a scheme for generating two-photon states for a cavity field. In the scheme the cavity initially contains a small coherent or thermal field. Then a resonant two-level atom is sent through the cavity. After an appropriate interaction time the atom is state-selectively measured, which may collapse the cavity field onto a two-photon state. A three-photon state of rather high fidelity can also be generated with a single atom.

Generation of SU(2) Coherent States for a Cavity Mode and a Collective Atomic Mode

Zheng Shi-Biao

We propose a scheme for generation of SU(2) coherent states for an atomic ensemble and a cavity mode. In the scheme a collection of two-level atoms resonantly interact with a single-mode quantized field. Under certain conditions, the system can evolve from a Fock state to a highly entangled SU(2) coherent state. The operation speed increases as the number of atoms increases, which is important in view of decoherence.

A scheme is proposed for the generation of multi-mode entangled coherent states through the interaction of a multi-mode cavity field with an atom driven by a classical field.By adjusting the transition frenqucy of the atom, the atom interacts with the classical field and the multi-mode cavity field alternately. After the measurement of the state of the atom, the multi-mode cavity field evolves into a multi-mode entangled coherent state.

Generation of arbitrary Fock states via resonant interactions in cavity QED

Gisana C. A. Bueno, Wesley Bueno Cardoso, Ardiley Torres Avelar +1 more

We propose a scheme to generate arbitrary Fock states |N> in a cavity QED using N resonant Rydberg atoms. The atom-field interaction times are controlled via Stark-shifts adjusted in a way that each atom transfers a photon to the cavity, turning atomic detections useless. Fluctuations affecting the control of the atom-field interactions are also considered.

Guo Guang-miao

A scheme is presented to generate the entangled coherent state of two-mode cavity-field with a driven atom. After the interaction of a two-level atom with a two-mode cavity field, the system of the atom and the acvity field envolves the entangled state by using laser manipulating the atom inducing Stark Effect and Rabi flip controls. The entangled coherent states can be obtained by state-selective measurement on the atom.
