CALCULATION OF ENTROPY FOR SOME COUPLED OSCILLATORS BY USING THE GENERALIZED HELLMANN–FEYNMAN THEOREM

Abstract

The entropies of several typical coupled bosonic oscillators are calculated by virtue of the generalized Hellmann–Feynman theorem (GHFT). The relation between GHFT and entropy-variation is construct by using von Neumann entropy, which provides us with a new approach for deriving entropy of some complicated systems.

Mean energy of some interacting bosonic systems derived by virtue of the generalized Hellmann–Feynman theorem

Hong-Yi Fan, Xue-xiang Xu

By virtue of the generalized Hellmann–Feynman theorem [H. Y. Fan and B. Z. Chen, Phys. Lett. A 203, 95 (1995)], we derive the mean energy of some interacting bosonic systems for some Hamiltonian models without proceeding with diagonalizing the Hamiltonians. Our work extends the field of applications of the Hellmann–Feynman theorem and may enrich the theory of quantum statistics.

Deriving Internal Energy by Virtue of Generalized Feynman–Hellmann Theorem for Mixed States

Hong-Yi Fan, Zhonghua Jiang

We show how to directly use the generalized Feynman–Hellmann theorem, which is suitable for mixed state ensemble average, to derive the internal energy of Hamiltonian systems. A concrete example, which is a two coupled harminic oscillators, is used for elucidating our approach.

Application of generalized Hellmann-Feynman theorem in deriving internal energy of some Hamiltonians in quantum optics

Hong-Yi Fan, Min Wang, Peng Yan

In this paper, after introducing the generalized Hellmann-Feynman (or Feynman-Hellmann) theorem (GHFT) for mixed-state ensemble average, we apply GHFT to deriving the internal energy of some Hamiltonian systems in quantum optics. The ensemble average energy contributed from each separated term involved in the Hamiltonian is also considered. We thus develop an alternate approach for deriving the internal energy.

Thermal vacuum state for the two-coupled-oscillator model at finite temperature: Derivation and application

Xue-xiang Xu, Liyun Hu, Qin Guo +1 more

Following the spirit of thermo field dynamics initiated by Takahashi and Umezawa, we employ the technique of integration within an ordered product of operators to derive the thermal vacuum state (TVS) for the Hamiltonian H of the two-coupled-oscillator model. The ensemble averages of the system are derived conveniently by using the TVS. In addition, the entropy for this system is discussed based on the relation between the generalized Hellmann—Feynman theorem and the entroy variation in the context of the TVS.

Generalized Virial Theorem for Mixed State When Hamiltonians Include Coordinate-Momentum Couplings

Wang Min

The generalized Virial theorem for mixed state, derived from the generalized Hellmann–Feynman theorem, only applies to Hamiltonians in which potential of coordinates is separate from momentum energy term. In this paper we discuss Virial theorem for mixed state for some Hamiltonians with coordinate-momentum couplings in order to know their contributions to internal energy.
